What a burning shame on all the stock 370z owners (include myself)
No need to be ashamed. Just do the math: 3,000 lbs. and 340-350hp with the average bolt-ons. Actually, I think that the Z fared pretty well.

I wouldn't feel so bad. The turbo Cobalt SS has posted one of the fastest FWD times at the Nuringberg ring.

With a little more styling and marketing the Cobalt SS could have made a bigger impact and had greater sales.

I didn't know that Cobalt SS has fastest nuringberg record in FWD...
Cobalt SS/TC have lighter curb weight, 139KG lighter than Manual and 156KG lighter than A7.
Also, cobalt ss has potential to achieve more than 344 WHP easily after few bolt-ons with very low cost...
In this case, it was too obvious that 370z is owned by Cobalt SS/TC with bolt-ons...

Whats to be ashamed about? The cobalt turbo isn't a bad car...its not for me as i didn't even cosider it. Im sure there are alot of different modded cars that began life as grocery getters that can be faster than a stock Z in a straight line. With the right amont of $$$ anything can be made to be fast.

It looks like the Z let up, and it was a street race, so there really is no true finsh line.

cobalt came within a pube hair of beating the new camaro at the nurburgring. Not a bad little car. Of coarse GM beat it with the ugly stick, like most of their cars.

I've driven one too many Cobalt rental cars. Not the SS I know but still the same basic car sans engine and suspension upgrades. If I were limited to a 25k car then I might consider it. Otherwise, I'd buy the Z all over again.

Guys, it's clear that the Z smoked the colbalt. Time the video, I did it 3 times, by the time the Cobalt passes the Z, it's 14 seconds!!! Doesn't the Z do the 1/4 mile in mid 13's ?? come on, I'm sure the guy in the Z was backing off at the point too.
This video is bogus if people think the cobalt was the faster of the 2 cars. Good thing this was done on a closed course

370Z ftw

Yeah, the Z was pushing the lead until 15 seconds.

Yeah, IMO youtube videos are useless. However, the Cobalt SS/TC with just bolt-ons can easily achieve 350/360 hp, and keep in mind that it is 300 lbs. lighter than the Z. Don't let the Cobalt's low-rent rental look fool you, it has a very capable chassis with terrific suspension and a very capable engine. In stock form is no match to the Z (13.9 @ 104mph), but all it takes is $1,5k in bolt-ons to blow the doors out of any Z. It sucks, but is what it is.

My friend had the S/C version, and went stage II with everything. He said that now that he has the turbo version, it feels faster but he's yet to dyno it. Turbo's are awesome. The Turbo Cobalts will be a force on the streets. But just a few mods to the Z will keep it competitive. For a few hundred dollars, the turbo sky's, solstices, and cobalts make 300 to the ground and they all weigh 3000. My Solstice GXP weighed 2980 with 1/2 tank of gas.
