Yes. It is shorter and easier.

From what I understand it does. I also understand that at around 5k rpm it has a bit of a buzz/rattle. Mr. Onzedge has one. Perhaps in his spare time he will comment on this thread. :)

Hey, I did. Mine buzzed when I had the stock knob. Around 4,500 RPM it made a racket but not all the time. I learned to live with it after I was not able to isolate the source of the noise. However, when I installed the PWJDM knob, it went away and it makes no noise at all now. I think the solution may lie in the rubber o-rings I have under the shift boot I put in to raise the shift boot up to meet the knob.

if you can cleanly remove your stock knob, there's definitely a market for it in the for-sale section. :D

Mine looks like brand new. I used a large strap wrench and took my time.

what strap wrench did you use?

happytheman 02-28-2012 11:39 PM

I had no problems with the removal of my stock knob. Of course, this is why I mentioned in my earlier description that you're going to have to hulk the OEM knob off! It can, however, be done with finesse and without utter destruction in cases such as the Ken-San! :rofl2:

b&m short shifter with stock shift knob. happy with it
the bulky stock shifter conforms well to my palm so no complaints

happytheman 02-29-2012 06:21 AM

So in closing what your saying is that your original equipment knob conforms well to your palm. Ok. I think I've got it now. :)
