Blind Spot

I've read and heard this is a problem when people are backing up. How about when your just looking to change lanes? or merge onto the highway?

I've never once had a blind spot problem when changing lanes or anything with my Z... If your mirrors are set up properly you should essentially have no blind spots.

It's an issue with that as well... You just have to be aware of your surroundings and you'll be alright! It's worth the fun of driving it!

Blind spots are there. You must just adjust mirrors accordingly, basically pointed where the body of your car is not visible.

As for lane changing? Not a problem if you adjust your mirrors correctly.

Now backing? Yea definitely a little on the blind side but the new models do have a rear view camera to somewhat help.

You get a little used too it but not a big enough issue to stop you from enjoying it.

Yea i've read that is what you need to do. The question then becomes how do you back into a parking spot straight if you don't have the side of your car as a reference? I guess you would just get used to it

If you lean towards the side you're trying to see the side of your car will come back into view for reference. Or, you can just adjust the mirror back slightly when you're backing in. But honestly, once you get used to the mirrors being adjusted out you'll understand where your car is in reference to other cars you're backing in next to.

I have, among all the older z's, a 300ZX that had blind spots until you were driving and at speed..

The Same with my 350Z , and now the 370Z... You just have to have your mirrors right, and pay attention like the others said...

I made an investment in an aftermarket back-up camera. Saves me from getting some gray hairs/not hitting children with the Z.

Backing out of a space isn't a blind spot problem, you can be in a convertible and not be able to see if you have cars parked next to you. The blind spots in this car for driving are like any other coupe you must set your mirrors and turn your head, your not driving a sedan.

i use my right foot to eliminate blind spots when changing lines. probably 9 out of 10 times a will accel a little to make sure that anything in my blind spot i could have missed isn't an issue. might sound dumb... but o well

just punch gas. then no hitting.

go for a test drive.

You'll crash the car from turning off VDC before you hit someone in your blind spot.
