Sold my 2009 370Z touring sport today. Funny thing is I miss it. I have had a Nissan since about 2003 with my G356MT coupe adn moved on to the Z last year.
I really liked the Z, but never totally fell in love. Not sure why. I can tell you I loved the G35. By all measures the Z was much better car than the G.
Long story short
While out just cruising stopped by the local Motorsports shop (carries all the high dollar cars) and test drove a Lotus Evora
Ended up leaving with the Keys to the Evora

I wish I could keep both, but as they say "there can be only ONE" well at least for now.
I would like to thank everyone for all the great advice and help on all my Z projects

kenchan 02-22-2012 08:02 PM

hey congrats on the lotus. :D

ZMan8 02-22-2012 08:02 PM

evora is a sweet ride. give a review.

chirowolf 02-22-2012 08:17 PM

So far i love the Evora. The handling is just another level. hard to describe the responsiveness.
The Z's cabin is more comfortable with better climate control. Stangely I like the Z's exhaust note better than the Evoras, but i have already ordered a Radium CAI adn looking into a different exhaust
Teh Evora comes with a poor Alpine unit. I will have that out within a month and replaced with a nice Poineer unit

b1adesofcha0s 02-22-2012 08:17 PM

Congrats! The Evora is pretty awesome

What, Toyota Camry engine's don't excite you?! (or was that the Elise?)

That car is beautiful! Interior pix?

The dealer kept calling it a Lexus engine, whatever. the engine is good and delivers plenty of power for me. overall good power to weight

interior pics. and yes, its a 2+2 of course you cannot have legs and have to be under 5 foot tall:rofl2::rofl2:, but will do in a pinch

Mike 02-22-2012 08:45 PM

cool, congrats!

the evora gets the 2GR-FE which, while it was used in the v6 camry, it is more of a small SUV motor (Rx350, Venza, highlander). It's not really a bad engine at all.

TerribleONE 02-22-2012 08:54 PM

Nice ride!!!

gsxr750 02-22-2012 08:57 PM

The lotus looks very sharp, what year is and what was the purchase price, it seems the lotus is a british chassis , with a 275hp toyota v6 in it.

mjd77 02-22-2012 09:00 PM

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that in the revamped lineup Lotus will be releasing in the next few years, they will no longer be using Toyota engines.

The Evora is one sweet car. Congrats!

ImportConvert 02-22-2012 09:12 PM

Very nice car indeed. The only downside to them is dealer network from what I understand, but if you have one near you, G2G. Sick looking car. I think of it as a Ferrari Lite. Sortof like the 370Z is a Porsche Lite. And my Z06 is a Viper Lite, lol

Congrats on the car. A truly beautiful upgrade. Very classy. If you ever see a gunmetal grey Z with Illinois plates waving at you, that'd be me. ;)

Never been there, but I've driven by that dealership many times. They often have many pretty things sitting out front.

I know how you feel about the, 'didn't fall in love but miss it'. I bought a new WRX back in 2005. Only kept it for about 18 months. Wanted a WRX, loved the car, totally fun, but never really felt "attached" to it. To this day I still miss it a little. Well, no so much since I bought the Z. :rofl2:

Cuda1337 02-22-2012 10:01 PM

Man awesome car. I love Lotus! If there was any car I would trade my Z in for, it would be a Lotus. I'm a bit jealous. If you don't mind us asking, what did that cost you?

sfearl1 02-22-2012 10:16 PM

sweet upgrade! i love the color. can't believe there's a backseat in that thing

StLRedrider 02-22-2012 10:29 PM

onzedge 02-22-2012 10:30 PM

Very nice pick up! Congrats

You can tell when the forum likes a car when we don't start raising discussions to make you second guess your purchase and you just get congrats across the board!

Its a new 2011. Sticker just south of $77k, but got the dealer down another $10K.
It does have a Toyota engine. The chassis is bonded aluminium with fiberglass resin body. make the car just over 3000lbs. Lotus has a SC version but cost $12k more. The the standard Evora is pretty rare(500 units in USA) but the SC is supper rare(60 units in USA)

How "big" is the car? I would have thought it would be a lot lighter than a corvette.

Interior pix...

I'm from the Illinois about 20 miles north of St.Louis. purchased the car at ST.Louis Motorsports in Chesterfield Valley.
Right now they have a used Ferrari Italia:eekdance:

way out of my price range, but Lord it is beautiful. originally I was looking for a used Aston Martin, but after a few test drives of the Aston I prefered the feel of the Z. The Aston is beautiful bbut is abit more GT than looking for.
The Lotus pushed all the right buttons. its not Ferrari fast but great for the B roads and a track day. The Lotus 0-60 and quarter mile are very similar to the Z, but on the G pad the lotus rules even most super cars.
