Why do you flip table. I thought I wrote that article. Except #10 which I answered, "F"U$K NO! |
i think wd was just wanting to excerse his facial expressions. (^_^)b
|
Slipping the clutch in reverse to brake = :shakes head: :gtfo2:
|
i dont think most cars will allow one to go into reverse while moving forward unless you want MAJOR grinding....

i power shift for when it's time to lay down the business i don't know to what degree the gears are locked out while still reversing but there are times i put it back into first while still moving backward out of my driveway, i just got to give it more gas to compensate. the few times i messed around doing a J-turn, the gears didn't lock out on me from what i recall, even when i screwed up |
WTF stop flipping tables! these are expensive!!!

I got confused at the end because I drive a 370Z, but the question had me driving a Corvette. So I gave up.

I even power shift on the way to the grocery store. Not sure what the BFD is. :stirthepot:
But seriously, I had always heard that coasting in neutral at highway speed causes excessive wear on transmission components. Wrong? |
in the past ive heard it can go dry in neutral if coasting too long.... not sure about modern MT's...
|
I try to avoid coasting in neutral now unless I'm coming to a stop at a light cause I noticed whoever said this was correct, how the car uses more gas in neutral then in gear while coasting. I checked this out for myself when I used the real-time gas gauge and noticed anytime I was off the gas in gear, the mpg was always 60. When in neutral, it's jumping all over the place.

Clever thread title.
