And in some cases for the same price as a set of winter tires/rims

You'd think it was cool the first time it happened. Then you'd hate it. The snow isn't the problem, it's the salt that destroys the roads that won't get repaired until it's about to snow again... If the roads here didn't get ravaged every winter my car would be lowered with a nice set of rims.. Unfortunately one pothole or uneven road here and you're done...

Unfortunately i have this problem as well. Not with salt as much but with potholes. I just recently had to air back up my tire and check for a leak because of one. When i get my 370z you better believe its staying on the main roads and wont be lowered til i get into a better living area. On a good note. I didnt have a leak in my tire. Dont really know how it got flat but iknow that pothole did it.

As has been said, the clearance is the issue and there is a splashguard just before the front tires that will get ripped off if there is any significant amount of accumulation. The bad news is it costs $400 to replace, but the good news is that it is completely useless as it only covers three bolts. I just remove it in the winter when I put my snow tires on and put it back on in the summer.

As far as stopping and turning, I feel safer in the Z with Blizzaks, VDC and ABS than I did in my Tacomas with all terrain tires. I just don't get up to speed as fast. The Z is my daily driver which I do drive in the snow regularly.
That front chin spoiler is useless
