Nissan hasn't recently stepped up their game and started to build quality cars with quality materials. I would say prior to 07 Nissan cars were very cheap and hard plastics. Now you step in a Maxima, a Murano, of course the Z you can feel quality materials. And from there the cars have become more reliable as they were known for many engine and mechanical issues.

In what? A 7AT? I don't understand the need to change things that work just fine. I mean, I could understand if they wanted to add more power but I don't think they've done that have they?
I actually track my car which means I push it to it's limits and it's given me no problems in doing so. And what you're telling me is that Nissan has vastly improved, not just improved but VASTLY improved the engine and drive train for.... the 98% of the people that will never even realize any difference since they putz around on the street without any hard driving track use? This doesn't make any sense to me. I mean I can understand wanting to give the press something new to write about but c'mon Nissan... ![]() Edit: I don't drive the 7AT so if it was experiencing some sort of drive train problems, I didn't know it and that would be understandable. |

So? You're saying the Z is not reliable? Yes their sampling size is too small and might lead to sampling error. But that applies to all the cars on their site in the comparison. It's not impossible but highly unlikely that their estimates would be too far off.

To paraphrase a bit, the sample size is to small to be really meaningful. Nothing more, nothing less. He never mentions or implies any reliability issues with the Z. And yes, I know he had tons of problems with his, but he makes no mention of it. He comments only on the sample size and the sampling methodology. Not the reliability of the Z. |

This is the statistic I have used to stress my argument about the Z being reliable. JD powers or consumer reports say things for political reasons. They will call an adjustment a repair then say a car is unreliable in order to give a corporate sponsor a higher rating. True delta is right from the consumers at hand and I trust these statistics way more than any other. I subscribe and I hope all of you do too.
Funny how they say the hyundai genesis coupe is more reliable than our cars but if you look??? Repair numbers is in the 50's. So is the camaro and mustang. Ours is 6 out of 100 last year is was 4 out of a hundred. NOT BAD. We fall in line with miata for reliability. Awesome. |
