In what? A 7AT? I don't understand the need to change things that work just fine. I mean, I could understand if they wanted to add more power but I don't think they've done that have they?
I actually track my car which means I push it to it's limits and it's given me no problems in doing so. And what you're telling me is that Nissan has vastly improved, not just improved but VASTLY improved the engine and drive train for.... the 98% of the people that will never even realize any difference since they putz around on the street without any hard driving track use? This doesn't make any sense to me. I mean I can understand wanting to give the press something new to write about but c'mon Nissan... Edit: I don't drive the 7AT so if it was experiencing some sort of drive train problems, I didn't know it and that would be understandable. |

So? You're saying the Z is not reliable? Yes their sampling size is too small and might lead to sampling error. But that applies to all the cars on their site in the comparison. It's not impossible but highly unlikely that their estimates would be too far off.

To paraphrase a bit, the sample size is to small to be really meaningful. Nothing more, nothing less. He never mentions or implies any reliability issues with the Z. And yes, I know he had tons of problems with his, but he makes no mention of it. He comments only on the sample size and the sampling methodology. Not the reliability of the Z. |

Beyond just the sample size, the data is self reported, which introduces a whole new set of errors...especially since the method of survey distribution is through enthusiast forums.

i cant testify for the Z, but i can tell you that i will never own anything exept a nissan. i have had six, and the only one that had issues was a 1992 sentra 5 speed. i had a 92 maxima, which got the stink beat out of it, and i was smoking the tires on a launch when the tranny finally quit at 166,000 miles. i had a 1987 hardbody pickup (big red) that i drove through the river (hood deep), tore up the salty beach in it, ran over small trees in the woods, and drag raced everywhere. (also a 5 speed). couldnt kill it. 2007 frontier, 1997 maxima, and currently own two 2011 maximas, (one for the wife). i loved her car so much i bought one. i trust nissan and i have put a million miles on the road in nissan vehicles.

I rated it better than Ford.

What impressed me about my first Nissan product is that EVERYTHING in the vehicle worked. AC, radio, power seats, etc. After a decade, it all still worked. I have never owned an American car that can lay claim to that at that age. |
