Feature differences on Base vs Sport vs Touring on 7AT.
I am looking at buying a 2009-2010 7at 370z. Initially I had determined that I only wanted the touring w/sport model. I'm starting to second guess myself now and am a little bit confused. I figured you guys would be able to clear it up real quick for me.
From what I understand, the sport package adds an limited slip differential, spoilers (front and rear) and better breaks? The touring adds in addition to that power seats, leather and heated seats, bose audio and a better headunit? The differences between 09 and '10 models are very minor, if I'm not mistaken. All models have the downshift assistance and none of the 7at's use the synchrorev, correct? Assuming my information is accurate, it would seem to me that my best bet is to get the base model, add a rear spoiler for looks and replace the head unit inside with a nice touch screen system. The only major things I'd be missing out on doing that is the LSD and better breaks. It'd be nice to have the leather seats, but not a must. What else am I missing? Thanks for the help! |

Honestly dude, Nissan Cars, Trucks, Crossovers, & SUVs | Nissan USA breaks this down perfectly. No confusion. You won't pay too much difference compared to buying new, the price margin on new is like $5k But here are some answers and opinions.
Both sport models have LSD. Yes, you're not getting anything but interior appearance upgrade for 5k extra and replacing a sh1tty stereo for another slightly less sh1tty stereo. Imho... power seats aren't necessary in a 2 seat non-reclining sports car. The premium of the touring pkg would be better suited on some Recaro's, a JL sub/amp pkg, some BA Dls Or Rainbow components and a Kenwood or Alpine headunit. You will pump 4x the wattage with NO DISTORTION. Both base and touring have distortion at high volumes, the bose hass a little more clarity because its paper cone sub is seperate from the component and the weak azz amp is available. Upgrading a touring model isound system will cost double in labor than base due to the system being really ground in to the car. (More work) |

The least obvious reason for having power seats is so you can easily readjust the passenger seat to see out the right port hole window for checking blind spot.
RE: All models have the downshift assistance and none of the 7at's use the synchrorev, correct? SRM in manual sport certainly, but unclear about auto's, They talk about it in reviews, but I pay little attention as I am so prejudiced.

Thanks for the opinions. That's sort of what I was thinking, so it's good to hear someone reinforce it. |

the sport package is worth it for the LSD and brakes along with the better 19" sport rays. The touring package is a nice option but not absolutely necessary. I do like the bluetooth phone accessories and the leather seats just make the interior much much better than stock.

Bluetooth is worthless to me. Leather seats would be nice, but I can survive without them. The LSD and Brakes are the thing that I'm teetering about. I didn't have those on my 350z and this car is a daily driver for me, not a track car. I do like driving it somewhat hard though, so I'm not sure if this is something I will really notice/car about.

Well one thing about the touring package, is you get the home link auto dimming mirror, heated side mirrors. I see you live in FL, so who cars about that But with the leather seats you get more interior color options than just black which would go great in the FL summer . As mentioned , the sport package is definitely worth it. It comes down to what you really want. & I say get the trim level you want, or otherwise you be wishing you did everyday you get in it.

The sports package is the no brainer part. A great value. Touring is for guys like me who are older and softening. I got everything. When folks complain later that they wish they had some option, I'm never in their boat. Talk is cheap, I also got mine for $32,900 so I got more for less.

SRM is syncro rev match- when the ECU blips the throttle for you when downshifting. Also works in upshift. SRM has been around since 2009. DRM is Downshift Rev Match- when the ECU blips the throttle for you in manual mode on auto transmission. Also works in upshift. DRM has been around for a decade. The only reason why there's a difference in name is because one works for the auto and the other works for manual. Its the same shyt though. |

All depends on what you want in your car. I was also considering the G37s, so I ended up opting for the 370z with touring, sport package and navi. My fiancee LOVES the heated seats, so that was worth it right there. In Florida anything but leather is suffocating, so I'm glad I got the leather. I haven't had it through a summer yet (got it in October), so we'll see how the suede inserts feel in a few months.
Anyways, the sport package is a MUST, for both appearance and performance. The touring depends on if you care about the luxuries.
