Dealership warranty fix story

So I brought the car into a reputable dealership in my area for mostly electrical problems. They were nice and friendly. I was feeling good about the dealership until this tech was called over to drive the car with me to show that the car has no more issues. Right off the bat, this tech was very unprofessional, trolling the **** out of the car. Conversation for the most part goes something like this:

Him: "How do you fit into this thing?" Then continues with saying how he hates this car

Me: (wtf!?) "Really? What's wrong with it (f** u)?"

Him: "Motor's too big and heavy for the car"

Me:  "it's just 3.7L"

Him: "I like the 350 better"

Me: "it's only .2L difference"

Him: "this car's too torque-y"

Me: (what s*** are you smoking?) how do you have too much torque? if anything this car is getting slow to me. i'm already wanting to tell this guy off but i don't want to make this guy hate me and mess with my car if i bring it back there again, so i humor him with some subtle stabs.
 "what are you, a honda guy?"

Him: "no i'm a toyota guy"
so i mention the supra and i get no real reaction from him about it. he mentions that he used to work "there," pointing at a nearby toyota dealership. i'm thinking he got fired.
just as he tries to pull back into the dealership, he stalls again for the 3rd time, and says again "i hate these things"

Me: " u gotta learn to how to drive it first..."

Him: he humors me with a f*** u laugh

we walk over to the manager and the tech tries to shake my hand before leaving the office. i did not oblige the troll.

so i got back into the driver's seat, noticed my prior full tank was now drained to about 70% full with only about 45 miles added on the odometer. so i'm assuming they left the car on idling for hours and hours.

my conclusion: very nice and friendly manager, and regular staff. don't like the techs there. some of them look like backyard mechanics wearing nissan uniforms.

Thats annoying. well at least your car didn't get broken into, taken for a joyride, stolen.... etc.

some people just want you to know they are douchebags.... i guess this guy was one of them haha.

wow

you should've complained asap to the manager. he would have gotten his rear end fired faster than he can stall the car. their own staff talking trash about the cars that they sell would not have gone down too well with the dealership manager.

Maybe he's a spy from Toyota trying to sell Prius in a NISSAN dealership.

i would've just told the guy to stay put and spoke to the manager how displeased i was with how the session went.

then the tech can look up your address in the book, find where you live and slash your tires and key your car :)

maybe i'm just paranoid though :p

i should've done that but i just wanted to get back in the car and leave to take care of errands. i wrote an email summarizing what happened to the manager i know there. hopefully that matter will be taken care of. this is why i only go to my boy's shop, PetrolWerks, when i need something done. i don't need to be paranoid about what prick is messing with my car or if he's even doing the work he's getting paid to do

wdkwang 02-11-2012 11:49 AM

i just got a fast reply back from the manager. he'll be taking care of the tech immediately

Mt Tam I am 02-11-2012 12:32 PM

How can I reduce my torque to be more like a 350? Yeah I hate it when I pull hard off the line.

yah, i hear ya. i hate taking my cars to the dealer for service...so i rarely do. :D

Thechidz 02-11-2012 03:14 PM

what dealership?

LakeShow 02-12-2012 01:12 AM

Dealership serviced my car one time and get it back and the seats are in strange positions and my carpets and the plastic by door and seat all have foot tracks and dirt on my car when it was clean going in. People just have no consideration. My brother in law has a Volkswagen GTI 2011 and when he takes his car or if they service anyone's car the service guys first wrap driver seat in plastic and put a paper on the carpets.
