5.0 or 370z?
hi i know we all here are Z enthusiasts. I love them and will choose them almost over any car in its price range. I wasnt a big fan of american muscle until about a year or so ago. I'm fascinated with what you get for 30-35k in 5.0 gt mustang. 414hp and of course more room. Then again it is a ford/american car and lacks a lot of reliability. I'm planning on buying a car soon and wondering what you guys would recommend thanks!

I think you will find that comparing these cars is not encouraged on this forum, unfortunately.
Some info available here: 5.0 and here: http://www.caranddriver.com/features...ni-jcw-feature I don't believe reliability should really be a concern. Ford has done a great job in theist couple years in terms of reliability. Last edited by Red__Zed; 02-09-2012 at 09:47 PM. |

Super nice car especially the 2013 they are releasing early next month. It has the cobra front end. I looked at the 5.0 too they are no slouch but for me the fit and finish of the 370 wins hands down. Also toe the 370 is just sexier.

Used to have the same opinion as the OP but after driving a number of Ford rental cars over the last few years I've got to say they got sh1t together. The Z is still a much sexier car than the mustang though (and not as common).

Z is slightly more svelt, looks prettier, and handles marginally better.
The Fiord is much faster in a straight line and can hang in the corners. Plus it has a back seat. It's all preference. I say test drive both! And it's not frowned on to compare the cars. It does tend to get out of hand, though. |

Best thing you can do is test drive both a few times, think about your life needs and pick your flavor. You will be satisfied no matter which way you go so long as you do your homework. |

In my eyes, the only reason to get the 370z is for a subjectively better looking car. If the Z wasn't such a fantastic looking car, I wouldn't even consider it against the mustang. I'm not sure how the two compare in handling, but I know the Mustang handles much better than most people suspect. Power obviously goes to the 'stang. Another thing to consider is that Mustangs are literally everywhere, 370zs aren't really all that common. To some, that's important.

I completely agree on the fact that you rarely see Zs compared to mustangs as they're all around. I've test driven the Z and loved it, I still have to give the 5.0 a drive. Two seats aren't the biggest factor as its the mustangs interior as far as seats and leather go seems to be a little more impressive for me. Idk its a very hard choice. Thanks for any of the help
