...Well uh, the 1st month I had mine, some kid in his new Lexus IS-F (the blue one) accelerated hard on my left to catch up. He looked at it and gave me the thumbs up, then he accelerated like a bat out of hell.

Ive had lots of conversations about it in parking lots and gas stations. But, I think my favorite was about a week ago. I went to a new Wawa right off route 3 and 175 here, and as I pulled in I noticed a cop next to his cruiser talking to some lady next to her car (I assumed). He stared me down the whole way, and as I park kinda near him, I hear him say, "Thats the car! Thats exactly what I want!" As I got out he asked me if he minded talking about it when I get out, and of course I didn't. So here I am talking to a cop in the parking lot about it, letting him sit in it (man, that looked rough while wearing his gear...), and at least 6 other people walked up and was just checking it out while Im talking to him.

HAHAHAHAHAHA i didn't know what burka meant so i googled and wow i woulda paid to see that lol too funny

Had one today. Went to a local 50's theme drive-in restaurant. They often get 50's & 60's era and muscle car meets in the lot. In summer they even send the gals out on roller skates & skirts to take your order!

It was raining, so all the action was inside. No one saw me come in. But I was watching the cook look out the window at my car. He's elbowing the other cooks, pointing, calling the wait staff & various folks -- hanging out and pointing to my Pearl White.

Meanwhile the food's a smokin' Everyone's food got burned!

Felt like a rock star when I went out and they all saw that it belonged to this old fart.

Met up with the parents last saturday out at a bar/grill and this kid came running over from an ice cream shop with a camera in his hands and said dude you just made my day, starting taking shots saying how he hasn't seen one of these in person yet. Out of the blue my dad says "do you want to drive it". You should have seen this guys face(cloud nine), not knowing he had a snow balls chance in he%@ of laying his grubby little hands on my Z, not the old mans.

I get stares, thumbs up, and whatnot all day long. I love it.

I fear the day it's "just another Z" like the 350. Until then, I am going to eat up all the attention. Especially the way my car looks/sounds right now.

^^ true true

Not sure what is up with these people. I dont ever feel the need to take a pic of a 370 or even give it a long stare. I have noticed that I don't see any advertising anywhere for the 370 around here. I thought about it too that I've never seen a commercial on TV for not even the 350. Maybe thats why so many people look at the car like that. They might not know what the heck it is. Recently I've seen alot of commercials for the G37 Convertible and the Lexus IS Convertible. Even seen commercials for the Altima but thats about it for Nissan.

Is the market not big for 370's in Atlanta? Or do they just not have a big enough marketing budget to advertise in a lot of areas.

Listen.. My mother has told me for years, "do not ever buy a brand new car, especially the first year model". When I bought my 350z she accompanied me to the dealership and helped me negotiate. It was 2008, I bought a 2005 model with 20k miles on it. She thought the car was frivolous but understood my need for a toy as a hardworking civil servant. Well unfortunately, when I was purchasing the 350, I was unaware Nissan was getting set to release the 370 (typically I am on top of this stuff, I mean I consider myself a car freak but I just kinda missed on this one as I was still pretty enamored with my new ride) So anyway, I get wind of the 370... IN JANUARY, approx 11 months after I've purchased my 350 and I start getting the shakes. I start thinking about a car that is like mine but better in every way and I can't stand it. Long story short, as a civil servant I have every other Friday off, ( I work 9 hour days 8 days and then an 8 and then off). It's friday, my wife is at work, my mother is out of town and my dad, from 3000 miles away is like what the deuce are you waiting for. I go test drive a 2001 M3 with 29k on it and I love it. I got to Nissan because I want to compare it with the new Z and I don't leave until 6 hours later, car bought on a whim. Anywho, I have to break the news to my Mom cause thass what Mama's boys do. Initially she is like what is the difference, and begins to bash me for being a silly man. Two week later she sits in the car. The reaction from my 50+ year old mother was priceless. She was all, this car is sooo much more grown up and refined than you last vehicle. Mind you my 350 was a fully loaded touring and my 370 is a base with cloth. Oh my, push start she says. Look at the accents and contrast stitching she says, it looks like a blue shark in profile she says. I couldn't be prouder of my choice at this moment. My mom, the ultimate, " A car is merely transportation" kind of person admiring my new car. Then she asks, what year is it and how much did it cost... I told her to get out and I went home. I'm mean I'm not saying that at 29 yrs old, that I'm afraid of my mother but..... at 29 yrs old I'm afraid of my mother. I have recently told her that it is a new model year car......... I have yet to tell her what I paid.

Anyway, for my mother to have taken any notice, yet to articulate the improvement between this iteration and the last, is freegin HUGE!! This is a woman who can easily afford an SL500 (which she wants but won't buy on principle) but continues to drive her '00 Volvo S70 with 150k on it. Your stories of gawking might be great, but you'll never beat this one as far as I'm concerned. Mama's boys know what I'm talkin' bout.
