i remember there's a scene from some movie where the attractive woman tells the man: "you can tell a lot about a person by the kind of watch that he wears." she didn't say anything about car

It depends on the Z but most aren't that difficult to drive. The first time I ever drove a car I was 13 (just in a parking lot). Also was the first time I drove a manual transmission. I didn't stall it once and it was my mom's Nissan 200SX.

I honestly have no doubt I could have driven a 370z just fine as well. I do have to admit the first time I test a drove a 350z (back when my dad got his 2004 350Z) the thing had like a digital clutch and both me and my dad both stalled the damn thing and my dad had been driving stick for 25+ years.

Actually i've started driving since i was 12..what a spoilt brat i was at that time..imagine a 12 years old driving a Evo 3. i've been driving stick for 4 years with 2 different manual cars before i had the Z. and you're right, this thing had like a digital clutch and that's why i stalled it the first time i drive her

Now i have no problem whatsoever at handling her

Judging someone based on the car they drive is really really ignorant.

For one, it's a really ignorant way to determine how much money a person makes.

I know a lot of doctors who make 250K + who drive Toyota Corollas, Honda Civics/ Accords, etc. Why? Just because a person makes a lot of money it doesn't mean they're worried about what others think of them. Many people who can afford 100K+ cars don't spend much of their money on automobiles.

On the other side of the coin there is no shortage of people whom drive cars they really can't afford, can only afford because mommy/ daddy paid 1/2, bought the car used, can barely afford despite having very little in other expenses and so on.

So yeah only extremely naive/ ignorant people judge a persona income based on what car they happen to drive. But I suppose if you're talking strictly based on the type of automobile (coupe, sedan, truck, van, convertible, etc) you might be able to assume but assumptions are often 100% wrong.

I never assume ANYTHING based solely on the car a person drives and neither do most adults I would assume unless they're extremely naive and or ignorant.

I buy cars based on what "I" prefer NOT on how I think others will perceive me. Because one, that's a terrible way to decide on a car. Two, people who judge you based on your car are morons anyway.

I get this more times than I would like. Seems most people think this car is driven by business professional type people around here, not sure why, but they do.

I went to pick up a pizza at a local place and I guess when I pulled up the guy behind the counter was in the back doing something (I parked a little further away even though the place was dead. It was just my car and couple normal civics and corollas and whatnot). Walked in and was told it would be a few minutes.

Sat near the counter and started looking on my phone to kill time. I had a subaru shirt on at the time (have a few left over from my old car) and the guy behind the counter was talking cars with someone in the back. He said something to the effect "Damn, the black Z out front looks awesome, but I bet you some d-bag rich guy in a suit steps into it (pizza place is next to a few stores)." I just kind of sit there laughing to myself a bit.

Pizza was ready and I was paying he noticed my shirt and tried to talk about subarus to me and wanted to see my car. I simply just said "I guess I'm the rich dbag in a suit that's going to step into his black Z over there". Kid looked genuinely shocked. He said he didn't mean to offend with what he said but usually "you don't see someone like you driving a car like that. A beat up subaru covered in dirt I could see, but not a clean Z". I said "Thanks? I guess??" and went to my car and drove away. Ef eating at that place with those scumbags again.

For the record I did look a bit scrubby that day. 6ft tall 29 year old that looks younger. Long black hair (not brushed really, just woke up) in a black subaru shirt with gray cargo shorts and flip flops.

I wish I could say this is the first time someone was surprised at the car I drive. Even friends that know that I do pretty well for myself.

Its funny you write that, sometimes I feel compelled to not look like a total bum driving my Z so people don't think I stole it lol

although that means little because some guy in my condo with a Ferrari looks like a dock worker...he's actually the contractor that built the condo's I live in...can't judge a book by its cover lol

Haha so true. When I drive my Z to work I am in slacks and a dress shirt most of the time but when I take it out on the weekends i dress like a bum because its comfortable. It's funny seeing the look on some people when they see a 26 year old in a faded t shirt and shorts with flip flops on get out of the Z.

I get that you think your car is better than mine look or the you think
your car is faster than mine look. People ride my ***, pull up next to me, downshift and speed off. I find it funny quite frankly.

Man here in NY I think it's the worst. People just have no appreciation. I hear of people with Z's in other states getting thumbs up or people who are curious of the car and ask you questions or just say nice car or something. The Z is a fairly rare car, at least I don't ever see any others rarely so I would expect people to be curious and nice. Idk people in NY just got that hardass* mentality. Don't get me started on 350z drivers
