Default Quote For Install Question

I'm looking to get the general consensus' opinion regarding the quote for installation I was just given for my EVO-R diffuser.

Was told one full day was required with the car and possibly overnight. Three coats base color and two coats clear with a lifetime warranty.

$200

What say you my friends? Does that sound about right?

mr.happy- this is the new 'functional' diffuser? if it's the stick-on type it would take no more than 15min to install unless the fitment is still wrong.

"Functional" is really somewhat objective. I can't think it's functional unless there's a proper under shroud. Anyways, yeah this is the stick-on type with the three holes on the bottom for affixing the piece more firmly to your bumper.

I asked them to plan on not using the holes but to utilize 3M double-sided tape and silicone so I could leave the bumper intact and undamaged. I bought the diffuser off of 98Intrigue.

mr.happy- i dont like leaving my car at the bodyshop cause ive seen their 'test drives' on customer cars after repair. i donno, it's up to you but unless it's a shop you know well and highly regarded by your local car guys i would just have it painted and install it on your own since it is the stick-on type.. (?)

Price is about right for prep, paint, install and lifetime warranty too. I'd say yes to that.

If its the evor diffuser. It should be around $100 give or take, to get that thing preped and painted. Installing you can easily do yourself. Don't leave your car at the shop for something this simple. The new Evo-r functional diffuser isn't for sale yet I don't think

+1 I wouldn't trust those blokes!
Just get it painted there ~$100 - $150 and do the install yourself.
You'll be much more careful then they are.

I called around to about 20 body shops to get a quote to paint my front lip. The cheapest was around $200 for prep + paint.

Edit: The lip I purchased was pre-painted but didn't match. This entitles a little more work than just FRP.

Yeah these guys do a lot of high end cars (Mercedes and the like), are well reviewed and are vouched for by a couple of the guys in the Daytona Sports Car Club that have had work done on Civics and Porsches. It looks like they have a nice shop as well. I'm going to ask them next week about what kind of insurance they have for coverage of clients vehicles including where my ride would be if left overnight.

I look at it this way: I'm going to have to find someone to take care of the more difficult jobs in the very near future (side skirts, rear spats and front lip) so I may as well let them start with a simple one, right? If the price is reasonable to see if they do quality work, well I'm ok with that. I just wanted to make sure that the price quoted was a fair one.
