What's the worst that could happen?
I really want to start getting my feet wet in the racing world but want to limit the damage I could do to the Z until it's paid off. As a result HPDE's are not an option yet as hitting wall or the likes is not a risk I'm willing to take. I was thinking about looking into doing some autocross however.
Now I know these events are generally held in large parking lots, etc., so would it be safe to assume that body/structural damage is extremely unlikely? Thanks in advance for the useful input. |
check with chrisslicks. he 'dances with cones.' :D

go with an organized club and you can buy insurance for HPDE. Clubs like BMW, PCA, Chin, MVP, etc.

Come on... "Who doesn't like to get sideways? Terrorists, that's who!" :happydance:

Death indeed. Autocross..where medical personnel on-site is an afterthought, yellow flags are for Brazil, and the "officials" are a bunch of douchebags with their hats on backwards and their hands in their pockets going "uh, what do we do now" :shakes head:

Depends on the lot. Go search YouTube for autocross crashes. This is a favorite...
I remember another w/ a 350Z that was hauling *** and flew up over a curb, and into a tree... |

That looked painfully expensive for 30mph crash. What did he do? Gas it and slam on the brakes. That was weird.....Ouch +2
