Default Weirdest Thing Happened...

I'll try to make this short so you guys wouldn't have to spend the next few days reading....

Went over to my moms for dinner on Saturday. Exited the freeway (right turn off ramp), stopped at the light (on a hill). As I was about to turn left, I accidentally stalled, no problem there. I started the car back up and made the left turn. All of a sudden, my car starts to sputter in first gear. it would just jerk around in first gear like it was about to stall. I pulled over, turned my car off, and turned it back on. It started to drive like normal again and it never came back since. I had a full tank of gas at the time so I doubt it was caused by fuel starvation.

I'm not too worried about it now since I drove another 100 miles after that without any issues. I was just wondering why that would happen or if anyone had similar issues before.

hummm... not sure, it could have been some fuel/air mix from the initial stall that was still lingering. hard to tell.

i know some folks will rev so low when engaging first gear the engine almost bogs down.

if you have no SES i would just let it be as an isolated incident.

That is weird... Since it happened when you were turning, and on a hill, I'm going to go with your revs being too low. I know you said you have no problems driving a manual car, but that seems like the most likely culprit. The Z needs a bit more revs than most cars to get going, and turning while starting requires extra revs. So does starting on a hill.

I've been driving manual cars for almost 15 yrs, from stock 80s Hondas to Ford Model As and Ts, 18 speed Freightliners and Kenworths, to race cars of various forms. I stall once in a while. I stalled my moms stock Hyundai Tiburon a couple summers ago, and had a "wtf just happened?" moment. The car didn't even buck or jerk. Just shook a little bit for a second and shut off. They've got a clutch damper valve that prevents any shaking/bucking/jerking.
