Good read. But the one thing I'm sick of reading is the description of the SRM function. Every single artcle stresses it. But it was nice reading an article not focused on NVH. It bores me hearing whiners complain about the unrefined sounds from the engine.
Lol.:ugh2:

It's hard to call someone writing a review a whiner. If they aren't finding faults somewhere, I'm pretty suspicious.

The only thing I consider a whine is when it comes to the whole NVH complaint. Its a fkin sports car for boogers sakes. "A RAW sports car at that. It delivers a combination that's not comparable by any other car. To dedicate a third of an article review to NVH is whining to me. The Z isn't even that bad. I struggle to want to here more sounds from my car. I will be ordering a non-resonated exhaust. If NVH is that bad I wouldn't do that. So to me. They are whining. PERIOD.

Ha! Check out the date on the review. Nov 2008.

The magazines and reviewers are all the same. They praise and glorify every new model when it first comes out. Then they live with it for a bit and report nothing but the flaws. It's like a marriage. Same thing has happened with many many other cars. The BMW 1 M just had the golden-boy to ugly duck media swing happen too.

The NVH complaints are more about it not being pleasant sounds (ie, tire noise, etc). I think it is more obvious in the Z because the stock exhaust is so damn quiet, so the reviewers tend to mention it more than they would in another car.
Adding an exhaust is adding more good sounds, and drowning out the bad ones
