Problem with 370* help plz!

Ok so i have a 09 base 6 speed manual...i put it in first gear or it really doesnt matter what gear as long as iam taking off, lets say first gear..i shift and when i hit on the gas the car stalls so slow /like chokes and then takes off at high rpm...it reacts slow pretty much, like your hitting the gas all the way but its not going anywhere...until after 5 seconds ...feels like its choking and its for sure stalling ..wwhat can this be?

G37Sam 01-26-2012 02:41 AM

Is your slip light coming on?

djsekz 01-26-2012 02:58 AM

Nope, I have no lights on at all.

Three7D 01-26-2012 05:05 AM

Is it seriously like 5 seconds? Or are you exagerating? Cuz there is a lil lag in the throttle response.

elmz 01-26-2012 10:15 AM

Well, if you are as you put it "taking off" you should be in 1st gear, why would you be in any other gear? But this can happen when you dump it into 2nd gear at really low RPM's. For example, you're in neutral slowing down at a red light when suddenly the light turns green and you dump it in 2nd (since you're rolling a bit) and when you hit the gas it lags hard core for a few seconds then it takes off.

Do you have any modifications? If not have you or anyone hit the Mass air flow sensor? do you have any lights like check engine? it sounds like a bad 02 sensor or Mass air flow sensor got damaged.

Years and years ago i did an exhaust set up on my car and it fouled up the 02 sensor and i believe one more sensor that helps control the air fuel ratios and it did EXACTLY what you say above.... Hope that helps

Send me some rep if it does :)

BeemaaZ 01-26-2012 10:26 AM

At what rpm were you shifting from 1st to 2nd? Try shifting at least after 3k rpm (1st to 2nd) and see if it makes a difference. I drive slow most of the time but the Z is like "let's GO!"

Volk Z 01-26-2012 10:29 AM

Bring it to Nissan and have them hook it up to the OBD reader... Im guessing you are throwing a code even if no light is on notifying you...

Let us know bro how you make out!

djsekz 01-26-2012 02:00 PM

Haha we soldered the wire back together ..

Mandingo 01-27-2012 12:35 PM

Im going way out on a limb here I know...

But I'd say your problem is that mickeymoused O2 sensor

Volk Z 01-27-2012 02:41 PM

I said it was your O2 sensor earlier...
Lets all go back to post #6--- Just sayin :)

Glad I could be of service.... Some rep points would be greatly appreciated ;)

Mass air flow sensor is in the top/middle of your intake pipe. There will be some wires and a plug that goes into the pipe. The Sensor is on the inside of the intake tube.

You can clean it, but i wouldnt recommend "mickeymousing" anything more...
if its damaged as well then you will need new sensors.

So, problem solved?

tjlazer 01-27-2012 04:08 PM

it is a known issue, its on the forum do a search. I get this too, but it's like 3-5 secs of throttle hesitation then it kicks in! I believe the issue is the hot oil temps. I noticed it happens when engine temps are over 180-200+... It never happens when it's below 180.

that's werd....cause my oil temps are 220-ish at the highest and no issue...

djsekz 01-27-2012 10:49 PM

It has to be that o2 sensor... Even my obd Socket doesnt work.. Well ill plug in my machine thatd capable with the car and it doesnt work at all

djsekz 02-07-2012 02:49 PM

guess i found the problem..it was my AAM Shortys..i always felt loss of power...so i put the stock muffler back on and kabam!! has balls and takes off super quick!!!!
