I will have to see it to believe it..................... The AT that I test drove before I purchased my 6sp did nothing more than increase RPM when I downshifted using the paddles. It was no different than a normal AT in any other car when you pulled the lever into a lower gear????????

If you weren't aggressive during that test drive (i.e. staying at low RPMs), it wouldn't be that obvious. If you used Drive instead of Manual, you couldn't notice it because it's turned off. BTW, check out Nissan's site:

2009 Nissan 370Z Coupe Specs - Nissan USA

It's called "Downshift Rev Matching" instead of SRM, but the effect is the same. All 7AT's have it, whereas only Sport 6MT's have SRM.

The below is from another question on the forum and it says about the same as I did when I made the comment about how it feels about the same as other A/T's when downshifted.

SRM is short for Syncro Rev Match.
In principle SRM and DRM from the auto trans work the same. The big difference is that it is much easier to do in an auto transmission because the computer is in control of the transmission, it knows what gear it is heading to and what the target RPM is. With a manual transmission it doesn't know what gear it is going to until you select it. The SRM system is a first, DRM on the other hand is pretty standard in modern transmissions.

So which is it? Do you believe the 7AT lacks DRM which we have already established works exactly like SRM ("I will have to see it to believe it..................... "), or do you now think ALL modern autos have DRM? We're telling you how the 7AT works as owners of said tranny, and you missed the rev matching during your test drive.
