Why does best motoring hate the Z
 

I just discovered Best motoring on Youtube abd every one of the that has some form of 370 in the race it comes in dead last What the Hell?

second one is a great example. the Z is set as a "traget car" for the others to run down... ironically enough its the ONLY na car on the track....

370z's are more of a GT type of car. (grand touring) Best Motoring definitely favors more "tuner" type cars like the Evo and STI. They are boyracers at heart. I don't class the Z as the boyracer type.

so do we take this target they have on our back as flattery or as they are putting us in our place?

honestly, pretty favorable (fair at worst) presentation for the most part in their videos.

Good question. I've owned an evo 8 and evo X and can say that both are probably better track or time attack cars that the Z. What car would I rather drive everyday? The Z of course.

I think some see the combination of style/speed a benchmark they must eclipse. Unfortunately, the Z car is often times the target.

Like Jeff Gordon said one time, if your still getting cheers or boo's your ok, it's when no one is talking about you that you don't mean nothing. Something along that line.

Agreed. The OP said it comes in last in every race they test it. Seems to have done just fine in the first vid posted above.

i think probably people get bummed to see that the car has been put up against a 911 gt3, ralliart tuned evo, nismo380rs superlaggera, subaru sti spec c's and things of that sort. they rarely get pinned against completely stock cars or rarely are in races when they aren't the least powerful car out there. don't get me wrong there are some, such as the race where it was against a 911, 135i, and s2000 in which it didnt finish first but i thought was an extremely fair race.

however, some of the race groups they have dont make sense.

Either way, I don't see anything wrong with the two videos referenced. The 370Z did well. There was no hate, IMO.

See the videos vs the cayman (or the pre-2011 mustang). The z has just been around a while, it makes a pretty decent reference point.

458 catches fire, ZR1 spins off the road (driven by Clarkson), arial atom driver crashes because his passenger's Big Mac got stuck in his eyes, 5.0 wins. :bowrofl:

The Nismo does lose every race they put it in.

Hehe....Thats why i bought a Base w/ Sport its lighter, wheels are smaller less dragg and the body kit is slimmer less wind resistence..... see am smart LMAO :happydance:

It would be amusing to see BM do a spec-370Z race - all the people who take these videos too seriously would have their heads explode as they achieve the most perfect orgasm because the 370Z would be winning and losing simultaneously.

I really didn't take the vids too seriously but did think the car was totally mismatched . The races would have been better had the Z's been tuned like most of the other cars but oh well . I would love to see some newer vids with say a gtm Z or stillen racing newer cars

like the vid of the amuse 370z against a 458 italia, zr1, and 360 modena... i mean common....

The Best Motoring races are more for fun watching, who know how hard they were really doing during the 'race'.

No matter it's NISMO or Base, it can't be tracked hardcore cos the brake will fade after 3 laps. :shakes head:

Maybe that's why the Z was last place.

NISMO's are only handling and aerodynamically modified. The tune on the NISMO is negligably better than the reg Z. Too many NISMO owners put there cars against well modified cars thinking their factory tune will do something. An intake and exhaust isn't going to get Z drivers monstrous gains. The real truth is... Z owners need to truly and honestly consider FI. An NA tune vs an FI tune is night and day. The Z is not an out the box sports car people percieve it to be. Its an OTB handler with enough power to make it more fun than the lesser powered competition. Ie miata, S2k and other 4bangers.

I hope you don't think I think the Z is a WANNABE sports car? I'm just saying that as far as speed... the Z won't be the fastest on the block in a race if other cars are more heavily modified than ours. Most of our Z owners are lightly modded tracking against heavily modded cars. That's all I meant.

But the Z is one of the truest sports cars on the road.

Getrag MT82 is built at Getrag's facility in China and is the source of A LOT of controversy! :bowrofl:

Though most of the "Buy American" complainers seem to ignore all of the TOKICO parts on our car. I swear half of it is JDM. :icon17:
