Take long for any comparison thread to turn into a 370Z vs Mustang **** flinging thread.

The BRZ with the current 2.5L STI engine would be fun...

I know this is 370z vs BRZ, but I think we have to throw in the FR-S to the mix as well, seeing as how it shares the platform. Toyota developers have said on countless occasions that this car is set up to evoke the rear-drive Carolla 86 from back in the day, which has been used for some time now as a successful drift platform. In which case, this car feels more like a Syliva/240SX competitor to me than a 370z-fighter. Price, power, weight, power-to-weight, the fact it has back seats (regardless of how useful they might be)... all these facets are significantly different. Obviously, Nissan doesn't have a new Sylvia on the horizon, but the only thing that's REALLY similar between the Z and FT-S/BRZ is the fact they're all rwd. Unless I'm missing something, that seems to be it.

The old Corolla had power to weight ratio like Miata, the only it has over the Miata is the two back seat. I think a lot of people confuse greatness with affordability.

Anyone notice the shortage of Z forums?????? Especially 370z forums. But we waste more time talking and hating on other cars rather than having fun and discussing about our own. Meanwhile all the other brands have pages and pages of forums yet we have to talk more about their cars here than ours.

Jeez.

There aren't enough 370Zs to support multiple forums. I suspect the multiple BRZ forums will consolidate after a while. Mustang forums have always been fragmented, so it's kind of confusing and a PITA at times.

Anyways, there's nothing wrong with discussing other cars as long as it's healthy discussion and it doesn't turn into fanboy/hater/trollfest.

There isn't anything wrong. But when it comes to other cars it becomes same sh1t.com and people just get rude over stupid fkin cars... would you agree with that??? And its tiring when its constant.

I don't own a NISMO or a manual... so I love reading on those and would love more dicussion to learrn about those on a performance level. I have an autto and I am unleashing new capability every month. I would like to share some info without manual fanboys riding my c*ck. And its not my fault other forums may be fragmented or whatever.... scion subie right now has more forums dedicated to the upcoming car than we have to the current car. Honestly, I could car less about other cars shitty suspensions and lack of independent susp and there of beyond a casual convo. When we have emotional convos about mustangs and subies.... it gets dumb. We are still a Z forum. Behave like a Z forum. Wd are Z brothers. There's are only 30k of us over the course of 4 model years thus far. And 1% of us are right here, the black sheep of the automotive world.
We are misfits. We are a 2 door 2 seat coupe, not roadster... we are v6. Not 4 or V8. We are jdm... not american or german or korean. We have a median set skill in performance no one else has, yet we bicker about who is better???????????????
It still boils down to as a whole package... the Z is the Z and we shouldn't even be concerned except by striving to be the best at track meets by modding and enhancing our driving skills.
We should be using gen disc for tips and not whining about who has the better engine and susp.

I'm somewhat confused by the rambling, but it comes down to this:

If you don't want to discuss other cars, don't. Don't get upset if others do, however. This is a 370Z forum, yes, but it has "General" discussion, Other Vehicles, and Off-Topic... If all you want is Z talk then stick to the tech sections.

It's the same on any other forum. Probably 50% of the discussion is related to whatever particular car the forum is dedicated to and the other 50% is "off-topic" discussion unrelated to vehicles (hello food, DSLR, firearms, computer, etc. threads) and lots of "other vehicle" discussion. It is what it is.

We have other car forums and I rarely go there... gen disc is still for Z convos. And truth is this has derailed greatly. And its getting angrily emotional for nothing. You have guys on here knocking the subie with no real ground. It hasn't been officially tested.
This thread has derailed and I have the right to say what I'm saying as well. I don't see why the subie car is getting people so riled up. N I'm not ranting I'm stating... this is not even a Z related discussion anymore. Its indirect subie bashing and indirect mustang bashing. Which I don't even know how mustangs got involved
