Why not Certified?????
Hey everyone, i am new to the forum and am in the process of buying a 370Z.
The Nissan dealer I am looking at is selling an 2009, Touring, Sport, Manual, w/ nav. the car has a clean car fax and is a two owner car - the one owner looks to be a dealership since it was only a few months and less than 1000 miles. I am curious why the car is not certified? Does anyone know why the dealership would not certified the car? It has 3 month of bumper to bumper and 2 years of power train left. Please help - should i buy this car????? |

I don't see a lot of Z which are certified.
the car I am looking at appears to have a clean record - no accident. I drove the car and it appear normal and I would say the miles are pretty good at 26K. I was thinking there is something about the Z that dealers do not want to certify. |
They don't like Legos.
Its up to the dealer if they want to offer specials. The manufacturer warrants the basic warranty. |

as long as its in good condition i don't see why you shouldn't get it, mine has nearly 82k on the odo and not an issue yet other than deer run infront of it and cops like to give it tickets

The 2010 Roadster I bought last month was sold as Nissan Certified Pre-owned. The dealer was also the one who originally sold the car new, so perhaps their familiarity with the car was part of it for my dealer.

I just can't figure it out. everything looks clean, i don't see why. I spoke to a Nissan Tech and he was saying some dealerships are just cheap in that aspect and try to get away from the certification - i guess it might cost dealers money.

Interesting. I too am curious why they wouldn't certify it.
Also, Ford does indeed do CPO. I think most every manufacturer our there does. |
I'd wait for a certified one to come up if thats your main concern!

I found some other thread on the forum where guys were buying pre-owned and the dealer offer to certified for a cost.
I think there is something about the Z and dealership not liking to certify. I mean, i would rather pay for an extended warranty then have the car certified anyway. Nissan CPO deal is not that great. VW has the best CPO with 2 year BB and 7 yr PT warranty |
