I have been driving my z daily for about a year and a half, I originally planned to buy a commuter right after I purchased it but I have put it off all this time because I simply don't wanna be without it.
Side note: You guys wouldn't cheat on your wife/gf with a lesser woman right???

The Z has so many more strengths than weaknesses... really is an amazing value (especially if you buy a slightly used one).
It is true that not being able drive the 370 year round makes me appreciate the car even more. Mine is hiding from winter now and I look under the cover every chance I get. Incredible lines, great handling, and so much fun to modify!! Throw FI into the mix and the fun factor really increases. I did address the cabin noise issue with dynamat, but only after I installed the supercharger, test pipes and exhaust... The loudness really went off the scale with these mods. Now the sounds of forced induction and internal combustion are mellowed slightly and the road noise has really diminished. The only car I would consider as a replacement would be a GTR with 3 pedals, and no matter how much we beg... Nissan probably isn't going to give it to us.

The GTR will never come with the man pedal. Auto manufacturers are looking to move forward, not backward. That's like saying I want a big bad v8 with a 4 barrel carb just because I'm a man and that's what cars are all about. Within the next 10 years, Twin Clutch transmissions will more than likely replace both the standard manual and automatic gear boxes.

The Z was a whole different vehicle from what I have driven in the past. Mostly big V-8 hot rods. I liked my Z when I bought it, but soon started to realize why I didn't love it like others on here do. Now I am making it into the Z I will love and am enjoying every minute of it.

B.) Nissan is all about technology... their flagship is going to embody this sentiment no matter what... that's ok, it's their company and it is an awesome car. C.) Nissan does not want to engineer and retool to combine a manual trans with their AWD system, for the small market that is interested in this. The Infiniti's are an example. A G37 with AWD and 6MT would be awesome and a 370Z with either the G or GTR AWD system and 6MT could put our cars in a whole different class. Opinions aside, these options are exciting even if they are unrealistic. Unfortunately, this is the reason some people will not get a GTR... Just personal preference, but for me, replacing the connection between driver and car that is created by the manual gearbox with a computer and paddle shifters, sort of spoils it. It's a shame, I love Nissans, but if I ever go super car, I will look elsewhere. Talk to the engineers at Audi or Porsche about putting AWD and a manual together. Maybe they are thinking about putting 4 barrel carbs back on their super cars too
