Help choosing a short shifter

i have a short shifter and i wouldn't do without it. only bad thing is that it vibrates a lil once you hit vtak

I've got the TWM with a A6 Leopard knob and it is hands down one of my favorite mods. I ran just the shifter for a while and the shifts were shorter but required a little more effort. After putting on the weighted knob, though, everything came together. I get a short, smooth, crisp shift every time.

I have felt the AMS and it wasn't what I expected... its a little harsh and notchy. I would buy a B&M though if I got one. I've never felt one of their shifters that I didn't like.

B&M R&D'd my car for their short shifter 18k miles ago. I haven't had one problem with it or syncros since it went in. 4 track days to boot.

So before I spend my money, is it confirmed that a weighted knob and a short shifter wont damage the syncros in the tranny or shift linkage?

I have the AMS shifter with the stock knob. On the lowest setting it is super short and notchy. The middle setting is where I have it mainly and its shorter than stock but not as notchy and the highest setting is the one I use when I am on the highway because it makes shifting like butter. Had it on for three years and love it. Oh and it takes two seconds to switch from one height to another.

There's no threads on the 370z reporting this. Doesn't mean it can't happen but you gotta weigh the info yourself.

I vote TWM shifter. It's not adjustable but it's one solid piece of metal.

I read through all the threads I could find and it was all just speculation.

Thanks for replying. Any suggestion on a weighted knob other than PwdJDM?

I'm saving for a short shifter but currently have a twm knob. Fantastic even on the stock shifter.

Honestly no, still have the stock one. Had the first pwdjdm one, just wasn't for me. A lot of people like the tommy kaira "hebi bebi" one. There's several others that make heavier knobs, it really just depends what kind of grip you like.
