Right on. I got the same one.

I have one of these and have found it makes work MUCH faster. You may wanna check it out if you're doing the install yourself.
Thanks for the tip! I will be doing the install on my back .

I have been doing lots of tool shopping past few days. My garage before yesterday just had a 100 pc tool kit and house remodeling stuff.

Next on list is torque wrench(s) and I'll take a look at your suggestion..do you know model number?

Good Morning Family.

I'm getting a first hand lesson in the "Law of Unintended Circumstances" this week. Here we go:

Get killer deal on a set of Nismo rims and brand new tires.

Find out that 2009 TMPS on rims will not "talk" to my 2011 Z.

Purchase 2011 TMPS from forum member at great price.

On the way to have the TMPS switched-out, hit a massive pot hole, but don't notice any damage.

Upon arriving at the tire store (Discount Tire) where I am having TPMS swap done, I'm informed by the manager they don't touch cars with spacers.

Car is parked for the weekend.

Notice on the drive to work on Monday that the car is pulling to the right.

Notice on Tuesday, the pulling is worse. Look at the subject tire, and realize there is hardly any air in it. Remember, I have no TMPS right now.

Immediately take the car across the street and inflate tire to 50 psi in order to make it home later in the day.

Get home last night and check tire. It has 38.5 psi. A few hours later, it's down to 35 psi. Take tire off and inspect for any holes, cuts, nails, etc. Find none and begin a prayer vigil hoping the rim is okay. Mount the spare mini-tire.

Get up this morning and am at Discount Tire when it opens. Manager meets me at my car, and I explain the situation. He thinks its a cut in the bead of the tire which is now ruined anyway.

Purchase new tire and road hazard insurance for the other three.

I'm now waiting to see if the rim/new tire can hold air okay. Apparently, it's okay since i haven't gotten a call back with any problems. Wife's picking up the tire at noon if everything is okay, and I'll mount it tonight.

What I found really interesting is that the flat tire does not fit in the spot where the spare came out of. What do you do if you are on a road trip with luggage?

I'll keep you guys informed on events as they unfold. Still have to get the TMPS swapped-out and a front end alignment. That should happen next week.

I just hope there aren't any bent suspension pieces. I was only going 25 mph when I hit the pot hole, but the impact knocked the wheel out of my hands.

yikes, GL hopefully its just the tire.

Can anybody please inform me regarding the TPMS and aftermarket wheels?

mr.gurney- hang in there!~ btw, also check your valve stem's core for tightness if it's not the tire or the bead. you can buy a cheap tool for this (and your pressure guage, 12v air compressor) at your local autoparts store. all it needs is a snug torque, no cranking.

That sux Gurney hope thing work out. Kenman shouldn't he have a valve tool in his trunk if he has spare tire delete. I'm sure there is a tool in my trunk.

does he? i dont know mine is a 2009 and didn't come with much tools.

this is the valve core tool (top right tip is wat you use to torque down the core if it's leaking).

That Dewalt is DCF813S2. Just click on the pic I posted and it'll take you to it on Amazon.

I've worked on cars since I was a kid and have a garage full of tools, you can never have enough LOL

Zman good to see you buying tools. I have more than $1500 in tools in my garage. For torque wrenches you should get a 120 inch pound and 100 lb ft. Cannot give you part #'s Get the "click" type not the bar type. I don't think you need to get a stretch gage torque wrench. As for TMPS they are small sensors that mount on the valve stem inside the rim to let you know when tire pressure goes down. It sends a signal and will display on the dash.

Yep I'm building the tool collection ($$$$ )

More specifically for the TPMS, if i buy aftermarket wheel, do I have to buy the expensive( read somewhere its $500) tpms for them? That would be a lot of extra costs for aftermarket wheels.

Nice thanks speedy. Is the battery good, or would you recommend a corded one instead? it will never leave the garage FYI

on some of them they do. but most places can sell you new TPMS that fits and just have the dealer program it.
