I understand the instant torque of the electric motor and the light weight of the leaf would give it the advantage for like .1 seconds but I have to raise the :bs: on this on. It was set up by a dealer trying to market a car to a crowd that was gonna buy the Z.

Conditions were cold, track was slippery. This was purely a case of Summer tire fail in Winter temperatures. If you listen closely you can see he was really struggling for grip. So yes, over 1/8th mile the leaf had him.

C'mon guys really? Really? They'll do anything to move those leafs off the lot, even if that means making a "fixed" video of a leaf beating the Z.

In other words it's fake. If someone truly thinks the Leaf can beat the Z even based on those poor conditions then by all means PLEASE buy the leaf instead.

I think we've all been leaf-rolled....it's like being rick-rolled but with cars.

theDreamer 01-08-2012 11:00 AM

Wow, some of you I think are taking this a bit seriously, it was a joke race to just stir the pot.

Don't know if somebody has messed with the Leaf, but there's been some crazy project cars. Nissan Europe dropped a twin turbo drivetrain of a GT-R in the body of a Juke.
Called the Juke-R. This mutant has the GT-R's engine, tranny, brakes, and suspension in the Jukes reduced wheelbase.

seriously its a joke. you can tell the Z short shifted and slow rolled first and slows down mid race... just stirring the pot to move the leaf... this is a true "c'mon man" moment.

VQStryker 01-08-2012 11:49 AM

there was a handicap, the Z launched in 3rd gear or should I say rolled out in 3rd gear

Yea there was a thread here a few weeks ago about a leaf nissan was putting a GTR engine into. I would imagine this is probably the result.

My friend at work has a CR-Z, I'll set it up lol! I might have to get some drag radials to keep up!

BWAHAHAHA!! Great job of stirring up the people OP because there is no way a vehicle that reaches 0-60 in 7.9 secs is going to take a Z! :bowrofl::bowrofl:

Nissan 0-60 Times & Nissan Quarter Mile Times | Nissan Skyline GTR 0-60, Maxima 0-60, Altima SE-R, Murano, 350z, 2012 370z and 2011 Titan 0 to 60 stats!

Oh yeah, and I'd love to see the travesty dealt on a CR-Z by your GTR Billy!

idk..... the Z in the video did not look like it was going full speed, it looked more so like the driver was holding it back to let the leaf win or something.

just my 2 cents
