I looked for my car used for nearly 6 months and finally bought new.

I have had hell finding a car like yours. They don't exist anywhere in the US.

A couple used 370Zs at my local dealer. Been sitting a while. I'm thinking about trading mine in for a 6MT or Mustang. Yeah, bored with life lol

Trade it for a mustang if you're bored, unless the automatic is your only complaint. Otherwise, you will get bored with the 6M pretty fast. The mustang is an entirely different car, and will keep you entertained longer than what amounts to a transmission swap.

New Z is well known for low in sales figure, so how will it has a lot for sale as used????

Last month when I was looking to buy a car. One local dealer had a white '12 sport. He wasn't moving down on price when I ask him. The dealer where I bought my used '11 Nismo, also had a '12 roadster, and a '12 sport. I asked about ordering a new '12 Nismo. The salesman said they can't order until Mar. and that the Nismo wouldn't be in until June if I was lucky. so I asked him about the used '11 Nismo they had. Said they just got it in on a trade. Asking $37,000 for it. I said $35,000, no trade, cash. They jumped on it. So now I have an '11 Nismo with 7,000 miles on it. Looking around in my area. I have only found 1 roadster, 3 sport/tours, and 3 sports. All '12's. No Nismo's and no used ones. Feel I was lucky to get mine.

Are any of those Sport/Tour '12's equipped with NAV and a manual? Let me know...

Ok, I went to the Nissan website and built a S/T to get a baseline price on it with the NAV, $42,290. This would give me a better idea on what you're looking for. Out of 40 dealers, I found 1 Brilliant Silver S/T with a 6M, no NAV, for $38,945. Out of the 11 Bases and Sports, and S/T's I found. None had the NAV in them. Did find 1 '12 Nismo that wasn't around when I bought mine. I would have bought that one instead of my used one. Oh well!

i think it depends where you are. up north, if they get traded in or unsold in fall, they probably will sit there until spring, since people don't usually by sports cars in the middle of winter

Thanks. Yep, that's what's keeping me out of the 370Z world. Noone has a car in ANY color with the options I want. It's not that ridiculous to want a loaded 370Z, is it?

Anyway, if one stumbles along in a reasonable color (I don't want another white car, and I am not a fan of Nissan's blue), and I don't want the grey/silver interior because it would stain to hell FAST! I bet, then I will do the deal if I can either drive to get the car, or get my dealer to dealer-trade (my dealer is willing).

*Frustration*.

Oh, and my dealer has confided that they cannot even order a 370Z. They tried twice. No-go.

Anyway, I guess I will have to go sulk and drive my Z06 in the mean-time :driving:

I lucked out with mine. I wanted a used touring w/ sport and nav, looked online and found one within 200 miles of me. Luckily it was at Autobarn Nissan about 35 minutes away. Really wanted a silver one, but the pearl white still looks fantastic.

Jeffblue 01-04-2012 08:33 AM

my 2010 was fully loaded 6spd black/persimmon and has been sitting on a dealer lot in NJ since october 1st. i think region has a lot to do with it. that would have been snatched up fast if it was in the south.

That's what kept me out for 2 whole years. They treat certain colors like rare jewels as well as certain combinations. Its take what's on the lot or pay a small premium for what you want which imho is ridiculous. But certain colors demand a high premium used because of this tactic. They short people and monty blue and black cherry. According to dealerships. There's only 3 colors to sell. Most will either have, black white and silver or black red and gun metallic. Other colors you kind of draw blind luck. Especially in tx and the states all the way around us...
Now let's say you get a blue or black cherry? You will find it lacks a sport package or it doesn't have nav or is a base sport when you want touring. Or it has nav when you don't want one.
Its a nissan money making scheme. That's why in the end I feel the touring isn't worth the money. My advice would be. When and if Mr. Nash jumps back on here with the discount offer around aprilish-may? Jump on it and grab hopefully find your model. Its the 2 months in the year when there are a lot of Z's on lots. Its like its the only time nissan even tries to sell a Z.
I've been noticing this seasonal pattern and I'm beginning to think nissan is actually forcing there cars to be low volume. The things they do truly are in the opposite of trying to sell this car. They truly have a "sell it the way we give it or step attitude." It might be for the reason of selling low numbers?
