It sounds like to me, your getting the run around by the dealer. I would truely wonder if there are any engineers working on this problem. I would ask for detailed information and contact numbers from nissian corporation, as to who is handling this problem and exactly how and when this problem will be resolved.
I have a feeling your car is just sitting at the dealership. My nephew had the same issue with a korean made car with a bad rod bearing, the dealer just tried to keep changing the oil and filter for 3 weeks calling it an engine knock, his mother ended up filing a complaint with the attorney generals office in her home state and 4 weeks later the company replaced engine. So at this point you need to file a complaint in your home state and make sure you have started a claim with the Corporation or manufacturer. |

prior to the Jeep in my signature I bought a brand new Cherokee in 06 and the transmission went out three times, had oil consumption, and gas mileage was below 10MPG! SO after a year and a half of dealership trips they cut me a deal on a new jeep saying the MSRP I got on the standard cherokee they would give me on a cherokee overland HEMI, which was a 17K difference, not truly a lemon but a great deal since the dealership felt bad for selling me a lemon...
go to a new dealer if these guys keep ******* around and keep in touch with Nissan corporate to document this continually, worst comes to worst, get a local attorney, cant hurt. GL!

You really need to stop pussy footing around with them and play hard ball, contact your state attorney generals office and also lodge a formal complaint with the company, and make sure you document every, phone call, letter and visits to dealers, making sure you get a signed copy of every time the car has come in for service about what was actually done to the car.
Nothing will get done until they see that you are serious. Did you ever really get to talk to or meet this factory engineer ? Last edited by gsxr750; 02-15-2012 at 12:42 PM. |

I'd do what gsxr750 is recommending. Also, contact Nissan North America. If there really are Nissan engineers involved, they'll know. I'm sure they can look your car up by VIN. Get them involved, and let them know you feel like the dealership is jerking you around.

You may actually want to go to another nissan dealer and have them run your VIN # thru their dealer repair system and this may actually show that your car has been a lemon, even before you purchased it and the dealer or private seller, knew very well of these problems and stuck you with the car.
If you purchased the car from a party and they knowingly sold you a lemon, you probably would have a good case for a lawsuit. Remember the woman lawyer who sued a car company for the hybrid that didn't deliver the advertized MPG rating and she won in california. |
