Nissan 370Z Forum

I think my dealer covered up an accident.

Can you post your old VIN #? This way many forum members can avoid that car. Congrats on the new car. Hope this one is a keeper.

This story is ...disconcerting at best. You were nicer about the situation than I would have been (but looks like it worked out for you in the end).

I've been in Sales and Customer Service type positions since I've worked. Being too pissed off and crazy doesn't always get the job done. You have to find a happy medium.

May be the reason he got the result that he did instead of the dealer digging in his heels....

wow, good to hear to worked out in the end.

i bought a 96 altima years back from a body shop (red flag right there haha). they were selling the car since they took the title as payment for repairs on the car. the previous owner spent the insurance check before the car was repaired, and couldn't pay for the car when it was time to pick it up.

the body shop was owned by a family friend, so i took them at their word when they said it was only a minor accident where the car was rear ended (only cosmetic damage). when i eventually sold the car to carmax a few years later, they wanted to know about the major accident the car was in since there was obvious frame damage, and they could tell where the clamps were put when the frame was bent back into shape.

needless to say, no one in my family takes our cars to that body shop anymore.

lesson learned.

WOW....... I am sorry to hear that your '09 was F'ed up, but for the most part after all the BS you came out like an EFFEN CHAMP. You have a new nice looking car, color & assuming no BS with the new 370Z. You already have a lot of equity in the new car since you did make out like a bandit.

Looks like the dealer already has your car up for resale. I think your VIN was JN1AZ44E39M404734. Here's the carfax info., it seems to match your story.

So how does the new Z handle/feel? Was it all in your head? Does the new Z feel like you expected?

I would try to contact Car Fax & dispute the claim, so no one else gets stuck with that lemon.

Glad you got taken care of in the end.

So shady! I just went out to my Z to review the vins! Can't seem to find the vin stickers on the rear bumper and rear quarter panels.... Any one know the location of these?? I did buy my 2012 370 new but it was a dealer transfer. Just want to make sure after this story...

Well it was proven that there were major repairs. But YES... it drives much better than the last one ever did. The last one never seemed to really be in balance (even when confirmed to be). It just always seemed to drive whacky.

The new one does drive MUCH better.
