Default A 370z or 350z??

Help me decide..lol.. I would really like to know "real" world likes and dislikes about both cars. Some you have had or have a 350z and 370z..compare the two for me. Oh and please dont list the specs of each I know them already.

I know there are quite a few very low mileage 350s going for very attractive prices ....

Any chronic mech. issues with 350z's? Any and all info would be awsome.
A good driving comparison between the two..kind of thing..I hope you guys know what Im looking for.

Thanks.

3. 370 Pulls like a V8/ 350 feels like a 4 cyl.
4. 350 Tire feathering problem in frontend
5. 350 has the hollow sound in the exhuast

the 370z is current and looks and preforms great.

Tire feathering was a big PITA on the 350...talk about maintenance expense. You need to keep your car aligned ALL the time to try and prevent it.

Love my 370, can't even compare it to my 350 because it is better in every way. Only thing I miss is the digital MPH gauge up in the pod, but no big loss.

only 3 "safe" models on the 350z to get.
2005. 2007. 2008.
the 03-04 had tire feather, 05 fixed.
06 Started new rev up engine and also new oil consumption problems.
07-08 never heard a problem.

350z better gas milage.
350z cheaper! cant beat cheaper some times.
370z feels like way more power than my 05 350z auto.
as stated 370z auto = far superior.
370z better interior by far.
looks, both look good to me.
370z manual with syncro rev = far superior for novice like me.

All in all, my 370z feels like its a whole different car over my 05 350z.
Drove 05 350z for 2.5 years
Drove 370z for 2 months. I defintly would NOT want to go back to a 350z.

My comparison notes between the two here: Initial 370Z v. 350Z impressions (after 5 days of 370Z ownership)

I never regret upgrading from my '03 350Z to my '09 370Z. It is so much more refined.

I hate to say it (and hope my girl doesn't read it) but the 350 looks dated now, and the 370 interior takes the 350's interior and rapes it over a stump.

Default Purchasing..

Not really sure at this point ..which one. No real time frame other than maybe sometime this summer.
I was aware of the tire feathering of the earlier 350z's..I have followed the Z since before the 350z was released(have all the mags that covered the car, as well as brochures etc.). If I had to pick a 350z it would definitely be an '07 or '08..I just love the hood bulge, much more like the orig Z..as well as the 280's I used to own. Not sure if I like the 350z Nismo. Might be too much bodywork for my taste..but would not rule anything out..lol. Is the 350Nismo that much diff...besides the obvious body treatments..real numbers different?

I do love the 370z's look (except for the hood and roof treatment)..they serve no real purpose in my mind. Im sure Nissan will flatten the roof and bulge the hood in years to come(please, please..)..Regarding the maybe 370purchase..waiting to see what happens with the oil-cooling issue. I dont plan on any track days, but hey u never know. I do frequent Lime Rock, seems like a good car for that track.

So there it is in a nut shell..
Some sweet deals on 350z's ...Not enough 370s at the dealers yet
would like base+sport package, silver, 6spd. Dealers all seem to have
auto-touring models..

Thanks guys for posting replies :-)

+1

The interiors on these cars are worlds apart. I know this is a sports car and mine isn't even a daily driver but I really don't want to buy something that feels poorly put together when I sit inside it.

I feel like there is a lot of favoritism going on here for the 370 - some well deserved and some not so much.

1) Yes, the 370 interior is miles above the 350 in terms of quality.

2) If you're not picky, the 350 interior is still better than most cars in the price range.

3) IMO, the 350 engine (VQ35DE, 03-05 models) actually feels torquier down low than the 370 engine. The 370 pulls more above 4k rpm.

4) I had an 04 and never had tire feathering issues, transmission issues, or any sort of issues whatsoever. I owned it for a year and a half, put 25000 hard-driven miles on it, with 8 track weekends and 4 autocrosses. This translates to more than 23 hours on track - and I was NEVER easy on the car. Never a single issue.

LOL. Well, this is a 370Z forum. I'm guessing if this same question were posted over on my350, we'd see favoritism in the other direction. No real surprise there. Point being, it's going to be hard to get an unbiased answer no matter where the question is posted.

I traded in an 05 350Z for my 370Z.

reasons:

1) 370Z looks better - subjective
2) 370Z interior is FAR better
3) 370Z power delivery in high RPMs is far better (my 05 had 287HP stock)

I don't regret the decision at all.
