wheel spacers

Are wheel spacers solely a cosmetic upgrade?

Nope.. you need them for certain rim sizes to make them fit with your brakes.

I would say before you buy rims, and if you're not sure, go to a rim shop and ask a specialist, it doesnt hurt to as questions. Its a big purchase, so you wanna make sure you get it right the first time around.

If you put wheel spacers on, do they have to go on both the front + rear wheels? What if i just wanted to install them for the wide look?

It all depends on the dimensions of the rims (offset wise). Thats why you'd wanna see a specialist. So you can look at some rims, see what you like, compared to your Z and its brakes. It all has to work together, or you could have issues.

Pushing the wheels outwards increases the car's track, affecting the handling.

Here's a great link on the subject:

I went with 15mm on the front and 20mm on the rear. If I had it to do all over again, I'd probably go with 20mm all around.
