Z track record 0-60
I did a search to see if this may be a repost and didn't find anything. I found this chart that shows the Z and SX history of 60 and quarter mile track times according to 0-60 magazine. I found it interesting that they. Get 4.4sec for the NISMO. Wouldn't that put it on par with M3 acceleration??? Anyway. Here's the chart and enjoy.
Nissan 0-60 Times & Nissan Quarter Mile Times | Nissan Skyline GTR 0-60, Maxima 0-60, Altima SE-R, Murano, 350z, 2012 370z and 2011 Titan 0 to 60 stats! |

0-60 is heavily dependent on traction, test conditions, etc. It's difficult to get a real comparison with other cars. The M3 traps 110+ mph in the quarter mile while the Z is in the 103-108 range stock depending on the day. So while they might be close off the line, the M3 will pull away.

****Summary of Z Data****
Straight line Peformance Derived from data on Z's listed as bone stock from the 1/4 thread: M (SD) N MT: 13.67 sec (.07), 103.63 MPH (.40), 11 AT: 13.52 sec (.08), 104.62 MPH (.92), 9 Values do not include clear outliers or folks with bolt-on's, different gear sets, etc. Last I looked, not enough data for the Nismo edition, but keep in mind that while it has extra power it also weighs more than the non-Nismo Z's, so probably not very different on the average. ************************************************* Dynojet derived whp and drivetrain loss Average power for 370Z or G37: 273 +/-5 Average power for Nismo version: 290 +/-5 Drive train losses for both AT and MT appear to be between 16.5% and 17.5% EDIT: Note -- data for non-nismo cars are based on 4th gear pulls. Peak values, especially for torque, tend to be about 4% higher in 5th gear. Both are legitimate for testing; although 5th gear is 1:1 gearing, runs in that gear also put a bit more stress on the motor relative to 4th. Be sure to compare and contrast dyno runs in same gear. ************************************************* Individual results may vary.

The MT has more drivetrain loss than the AT?

My Z runs fine but I have never timed my own 0-60. What sort of real world times are you fellows laying down?

What's this? My Z is faster than the 2011 Mustang GT?
2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 0-60 mph 4.5 Quarter Mile 13.0 2009 Nissan 370Z (Automatic) 0-60 mph 4.5 Quarter Mile 12.9 This settles all debates between these two cars now and forever... |

I've always wondered what my actual 0-60 time is on the street, just need a good way to time it. Looks like they got my 1/4 mile time for the 7AT in there though

Nope, they are equal.
The range of 16-17% is probably just noise. I would say both are right around 16.5%, at least going by claimed bhp vs dynojet derived whp.

How can the drivetrain loss be the same across the two transmissions when the automatic still has a traditional torque converter to content with?

I'm glad that's finally settled. Those Mustang drivers on the forum were getting annoying.
