0 to 60 ?
1/8 mile = 8.0 @ 89.7
so what does that put 0 to 60 at ?
If you use the fomula from the 1/8 mile times its really quick.
3.58 second. ( with an error factor of a few 10th's)
the 4.08 gears make a big difference.
60 ft times 1.832

Ok, cool. I didn't know it had full lock up after first gear. Pretty cool!

Its something called technology. Lol. These traditional parts are being designed to work harder and perform in the extreme. Things are changing bruh.

Thanks for the kind comment bruh. At least the 6MT can take forced induction without even breaking a sweat.

That's really interesting. I never looked that hard into the 7at operation....that explains part of the reason it runs like it does I guess

Yep, it's a true thing of beauty ... :bowrofl: I'm still shocked months later. My 6spd cars seem so slow just cruising around now. That is because you don't slam gears in traffic. You ease into them. With the S7 you just let it do it's thing, push the shifter, or pull a paddle and your gone without any stress or effort. :eekdance:

I wasn't attacking the 6MT so I don't know where the comparo came from??? But...Just so you know. GTM has kindly made aftermarket clutches that will allow our 7AT's up to a good 600rwhp. Granted its not stage4, 1000hp level. But its enough POWER to get sub 11 second quarters. Besides after 700hp the Z is not so streetable. But thanks for your up to date and knowledgeable reply.

Im getting one he has started building it last month.

I gave him a brand new 7 AT with 100 miles on it.

I intend to go this route as well.

I realize the 7AT can handle more power with a few upgrades. But, good thing those with a 6MT don't have to spend an additional $7k to hold that amount of power. Your post came off as a bit sarcastic which is why I replied as I did, I am well aware of the 7AT upgrades GTM has to offer.

I didn't mean it in a sarcastic way. You took it that way and went that route...That's great those MT's don't need the extra few grand to make it powerful. You can actually do what GTM has set for about 4k street price.
AT drivers such as I who want FI have already factored in this cost even BEFORE purchase. Sometimes people do things NOT out of cost, but to live up to a set challenge of making an underdog situation into one of pure "WIN". A 600hp 7at, with perfect gear ratios and intense performance speaks to me. "Almost EVERYONE" takes to the 6mt due to easy modibility and keeping costs down and that's great. Suped up reliable 6mt's are a dime a dozen... A suped up reliable 7at, now you're sayin somethin'.
I think its awesome that nissan built such an aggressive auto. Yeah it takes tweaking and sure it takes a lil extra cash. But just having a 7 that kicks most other cars azz to me makes it worth the cost IMO.
Most people look at the 7 as some kind of technological disadvantage. I'm one of the few who sees an opportunity to unleash uncommon potential that is rare in this segment. Especially with the rare high quality performance of this JATCO.
If you prefer the 6mt? I'm really happy for you. And its a great transmission. You can harness gobs of horsepower 7's can't accomplish. That's awesome. But 600hp for me is good enough. If I wanted 1000hp? I would have gotten the 6 for sure.
