are you running an aftermarket exhaust system?
if so, it may be the evap-canister shield rubbing against it...as it did when i had the HKS dual exhaust before altering the shield.

have someone rev the engine while you listen for the sound. It may be an exhaust leak especially if you have put on an aftermarket system the bolts may need to be tightned?

My car is an 09 with 25k miles, the car has topspeed exhaust and everything else is stock !!
I'm a noob with car, to me it doesn't sound like exhaust leak (as I imagine that it would sound different) I have the exhaust on the car for about 8k miles and never encounter this weird noise before until recently. I will try to get all the bolts tighten up What do you guys think is an alternative problem to this? |

Well it clearly has something to do with the exhaust, or something caused by the vibration of the exhaust, as there are no moving parts back there when the car is sitting still. I would get it on a lift and see if you can pin point where the sound is coming from.

I had the same noise when I put my Berk exhaust on, it was the heatshield as mentioned above... but my problem occurred right as the exhaust was installed.... so the noise coming on after 8k miles is odd.... maybe the exhaust shifted a few mm's and that was enough for it to make contact. get on the floor and look for any contact.
