Im leaving TX and going to Virginia soon. Hope there is a reputable shop in the area. As soon as I can get more info on this setup....Im going to pick it up. Of course, gotta pick up cams, rings, pistons, and ecu to go with it. Tomei has internals already, and Mines is doing ECU, has exhaust, and front pipes. Damn exhaust from Mines is 4K. Sheesh

You need to contact the following people...

GT Motorsports

they make the kit and as far as I know these are the only folks that know how the tune the vq37 correctly! Unless that shop in the link you sent has been trained and certified by them. GTM is about a half hour away from me and I know for a fact that most people ship their cars to them for the work. so check it out...I hope I was able to help...you may also want to do a search on MYG37.COM - INFINITI G37 (SKYLINE) FORUMS, GALLERY, CHAT, AND MORE. they are very popular over there too!

Default Myself

Thanks for the info. I will do all the engine work myself. Probably send my cpu off to get it mapped correctly. Thats the only part that I dont have much experience with. But, the shop that will do the cpu tuning for me has never let me down in the past.

Other side of the U.S. for me. Besides, installation of the hardware is the easy part. Cant see paying labor prices for anything other than the cpu tuning.

Im easy, its the wife Im concerned about liking it. Right now Im stationed in South Park (Ingleside, TX) and there is absolutely nothing to do here. We gotta drive to San Antonio at least to find something fun for her and the kids. She needs to be surrounded by city and lots of activity. Cant blame her though, she is from Tokyo, so she is used to congestion no matter what she is doing.

All I need is cold beer, and a place to work on my rides.

Heh, I just started my terminal last Friday, itching to get out of Oklahoma City(Tinker AFB) and head back home to Los Angeles.

I came in as a Boiler Tech in 91, then in 96 we merged with Machinist Mate. So thats what I have to call myself(on the record). Off the record Im a BT. I work in the main propulsion engineering spaces. 120 degree heat in your work environment, sweaty, 1200 psi of 950 degree F steam (leaks mean you instantly sever limbs, or big leaks mean you cook from the inside out in under 6 seconds). But I love my job. Not only have I aquired more than ample knowledge of mechanical engineering, electrical power generation, and distribution. I also have become a certified naval chemist and certified hydraulic technician. The Navy is great when it comes to education. The only thing limiting you.......is you.
Not all jobs have the same crappy environment that mine does. Thats just the one I can tell you about, because its what I do. College is 100% paid for, I have seen the entire globe, and I can rest assured that on the 1st and 15th of every month, Im getting paid. Not that its great pay, but its stable none the less. Its not all peaches though. You leave your family anywhere from 5-9 months at a time. My first three tours in the Persian Gulf were 9-6-7 months respectively. You miss your kids, wife, school plays, first words, Christmas, Thanksgiving, and anything else you can think of. Food doesnt always suck, but its not always great either. The military isnt for everyone thats for sure. But if you are seriously thinking about joining keep this in mind: Marines on the ground getting shot at.
Army....on the ground getting shot at.
Air Force...better quality of life, but advancement sucks.
Navy.....we float....blow you up from a long distance.....watch the
damage on T.V. without any return fire.
Regardless which you choose, go for an officer program. More money there and better retirement pay. Hope that helps.

AHHH terminal. Im 23 months away from that. Cant wait to get out and start making some real money.................and move back to Japan. Bars dont close till 6 a.m., beer vending machines on the street, and tuning shops on damn neer every corner. And oh yeah, a GT-R in great shape cost as much as a Nissan Versa over there.

Good luck on your next endeavor.
