Overall what I was getting at was how much modification would it take to retrofit GT-R parts onto a Z chassis... could you bolt up the heads/manifold/turbos up to our short block and tranny. Seems like the answer is not really without some significant time and $$$.

why would you want to though?? A gtm Z makes 480-520 @ 10psi, a gtr needs 14psi to make about 460 and thats with the extra displacement. So there is nothing special about that setup that it would be worth the money. The tranny and the drivetrain is what rewrote all the record books though

That's true, but the the VR has the better reliability because it was designed from the ground up with forced induction in mind. Not saying the VQ isn't reliable, you're just taking a bigger risk and likely decreasing overall engine life by going FI.

The Juke R looks sweet! It looks like they've completed the conversion but they haven't put out any videos of its performance...I can't wait to see how it does.

My thoughts exactly. It's the drivetrain and tranny that makes the GTR so amazing. Sure you can match the GTR in HP but you're not going to put down that power like the GTR does.

Yep, on street tires the only way to keep up with the high HP AWD cars from a dig is to be in your very own high HP AWD car!

The ZR1 is bloody fast in a straight line, but it needs more than 1/4 mile to be able to beat a GT-R. It traps quite a bit higher than Godzilla but it doesn't have enough track to pass it.

I seen this race happen in person. The ZR-1 does nothing in the quarter mile. It will take a one mile stretch for the ZR1 to make the GTR look weak. At around the half mile mark the vette superchargers kick in and just take off on the GTR making the GTR look underpowered and worthless. But who races more than a quarter mile on the drag strip????
And on a track? I think the GT-R will take a ZR-1 as well.
