But I have one question left for everyone. I researched the forced injection forums a little like *Forgot his name* said. And I still don't get the difference between twin-turbo and supercharged. Is their like a simple way to explain the differences or is it more complex than that? I did find this TT kit GTM Motorsports*::*FORCED INDUCTION*::*GTM 370Z (TURN KEY) TWIN TURBO KIT But I can't find any numbers for it and don't know if this is better than the GTM supercharger or what? Sorry for my confusing writing but basically, GTM supercharger vs GTM TT? And on the TT page. It has "Turbo Kit Stages" and they say 500hp, 700hp, 900hp, 1000hp. Can someone explain this for me? And what would be like the 0-60 times with the TT or supercharger? (Yes, I know 0-60 doesn't matter to most people but jw.) Thanks again:tiphat: |
Good luck kid. The guys on here have been very helpful. Take their advice and do some research before you buy anything. You've got a LOT of reading to do. Just be glad you're not getting a 350Z and posting this thread on my350z.com... they're ruthless over there lol.

Wish I was smart enough to have started investing at a young age. I believe I was playing Starcraft at that time :D

On another note I'm pretty sure once you start accepting cash prizes you are considered a "Pro" even if you don't declare yourself a pro, since you are being paid for your playing. I know for a fact that the NCAA would deem that a disqualifier since even though it is an "open" event you have received more than the actual and necessary expenses (i would assume these would be expenses related to travel/food/entry fees, etc). |
I wish I was that good at gold :(
Edit: meant to say good at golf, but gold fits here too lol |

Thanks to the OP for using complete sentences and being polite, despite some of the posts in here.

^^ Hmmm, I'm not sure that he is actually being careful with his money. Careful with his money would be buying a 20k car or a used car and saving the rest to defray college expenses. But it is his money and he can do with it as he likes I guess. It's up to him to decide whether money will come as easily in the future.
added: lol I didn't catch the sarcasm in RiCharlie's post. Guess I'm not quite the cynic I think I am. |
I would got with GTM TT kit. Do a search on youtube and see for yourself.

To me this post shows his keen sense of awareness of the value of money...If every young person showed the same values , this country would certainly be quite an example to others... |
Why is anyone responding to this bs post.

Haters gonna hate. Cheers to OP for remaining polite and inquisitive. Maybe if more 16 year olds were as talented (golf) and intelligent (investing) as the OP the country actually would be a better place. Keep asking questions and read all the threads that interest you. Please be safe, it would be a shame to waste your talents and such a beautiful car in a wreck.

If you are serious, enjoy it as is and invest the mod money in driving schools, like Skip Barber. You will get much more out of that than you will with forced induction.

Very true as more power doesn't mean faster. |
Don't get a new Z as your first car. Go buy yourself a used car, wait until you total it (which you will), then go buy a Z.
|
BTW, make sure you bring your dad with you when you go to the dealership asking for a test drive.
Not looking down on you, but you need him in order to get the demo. LOL   |

^^ I could be wrong, but I think RiCharlie was being facetious with his post...

OP, Please drive the car stock for one year before modding your car. Seriously, the car is quite fast as it stands. If you are planning on tracking it then get an after market oil cooler and leave it at that. The Z is a premium car.
BTW, I'm 31 and I get the "your too young" to drive the car. Get it, be happy, drive safe. That's all that matters. Oh yeah: Supercharger - Belt driven forced air induction Turbocharger - Exhaust driven forced air induction ... |
<- had to google water polo

At 16 I wanted to go to Bob Bonduraunt driving school. Whatever car you buy will be better in your hands with some professional tutilage. Without the skill to master a Z, it's days are numbered.
Even a 240 or 280Z to screw around and learn with temporarilly, will keep your 370 in better shape. You do not need any mods yet either. You will not even appreciate them until you get a few more miles under your belt. Listen to some older, more experienced drivers and you will become old and experienced too. Not all my buddies are here today, because we were you and bulletproof, and didn't need a bunch of old farts telling us anything. Learn from other peoples mistakes. Good luck |
