Just finished the install of the shift knob. Love the way this thing looks. It fits in very well with the Z interior. Thanks everyone for the tips on removing the stock shift knob. Using the vice grips and strap wrench made it really easy to remove.
To get a better fit between the boot and the shift knob I cut out the top of a water bottle and replaced the factory ring that is used to hold up the boot. The smaller ring makes the boot sit higher on the shifter and makes the shift knob look more flush with the boot. There is no need for the O rings if you decide to do this. Here are some pics. My custom one-of-a-kind boot ring, lol Shift knob installed with the smaller ring Now I just have to let the loctite set before I go test it out.

^mine threaded down into the perfect position, did yours?? Or did you use the loctite specifically to hold the knob in the proper position?

No, it didn't thread down to the proper position on mine so that's why I'm relying on the loctite.

------------------------------------------------------------------------ PedZ and Alchemy, those pics look great! Pedz, did you take out the stock ring, or leave it in place?

So I assume you zip tied it in place where the OEM was, eh?

Yeah, exactly. It's a direct replacement for the stock one.
