Rant about our cars...
So we all read reviews (I assume), we all think about things we want to improve and mods we want to make, and, being the good little consumers that we are, we all exercise our critical eyes, ears, and thoughts toward every car out there.
Still, though, driving this car, I have to say that I think Nissan put together something special. I love the view out over the hood. I love that the cutlines on the roof match the ones on the hood. I love the Veyron fenders (even if the wheels should have been fleshed out a bit). I love the fact that the car has enough luxury to impress my wife, but enough raw, mechanical energy to give me a big grin. The exhaust snarl up high is just icing. And I love the fact that it sings and is not just another V8 (can't wait to get exhaust, HFCs, and intake). I love the fact that those intake and exhaust mods will add so much power when I'm just getting used to what I have. I dig the fit of the interior - I like the size of the hatchback (just enough room for a long weekend with the woman, as it should be). The car is low enough, but not so low that its nose is already trashed. I like the short overhangs, the tight proportions... ...and the handling is dead on. For a car that weighs this much, the damping is great, the absorption of bumps is good without being disconnected. I know the car isn't perfect - I read car mags all the time and I can nitpick with the best of them. But I drove a friend's Z06 for a bit and it didn't suit me like this car does. I just think this is my personal favorite car under about $90K, and I'm stoked that I got it. There are already numerous threads about the missing oil cooler and the BLOSE stereo, but really - what is it that you loved about the 370 the last time you drove it? |

Ohhh, nice quote! I loved that movie. I've never had so many comments on my car since I've bought this one. My first, bright red FX35 got a lot of comments. My '09 FX, not as many, but this 370z, just gets a ton! I've had people in STis, TTs, EVOs, and the whole nine yards pull up next to my car, and just start talking to me. I also like just driving down the highway, and people just randomly giving me "thumbs up!" Usually the passengers in the cars that pass me are the ones going the nuttiest. Rubbernecking is common when I drive this thing around. I had a guy who had his brand new, supercharged ZR1, come up and say how much more he liked the looks of my Z than his Corvette. He guessed the price of it, and said, "$50-60K?" I told him how much it was, and he started laughing at me. He thought I was kidding! Yeah, I can't believe how smooth the suspension is for a car like this. Even my FX has a similar ride to this thing, but the handling on this baby is perfect! Even though I miss the sound of the exhaust when compared to the VQ engines between '03-'08, it actually is nice to have the quieter one when wanting a nice, highway cruise. Yes, there's a ton of road noise, but if you don't want it, buy the G37s. This is a sports car, and I bought it to be one. I can't be happier. (She does become a bit of a hot-head at times with the oil cooling problem, but a fix will be here soon for that, so I'm not worried.) OOOOHHHH, THE SYNCHRO REV MATCH! I love that feature! The brakes are even easier to use than my FX. I thought it was going to be the opposite. Good job Nissan... excellent job. I am a loyal Nissan/Infiniti driver for life. These damn things are bulletproof. (Again, oil cooling thing excluded, but again, not worried at all. Fix is just about here.) |

You can keep it that way with one of these: ACT LABS - *AIR SPENCER/FRESHENER CS-X3 (Blue,Squash Scent)
I picked one up at Carboy here in Houston, I guess they import them. Best car air freshener ever, and very JDM for your Japanophiles to boot |
