I have read several recent mainstream car mag tests. One had the Z .1 of a second faster. One had the 135 .1 of a second faster. Two had them tied.

It seems to be a toss-up.

Road conditions and differences in driver skill will make more difference than exists between the cars.

of course! they are very close in the numbers except that the Z annihilates the BMW when it comes to grip... but i mean... dont get me wrong - both are awesome cars... its just amazing what one can do w/ an NA car these days... but then again... breather mods on the 135 + some tuning = good bye Z... and then again again... take the price diff from the Z base to a 135 base and the cost of breathing mods + tune to the BMW and add it to a Z in the form of some nice JWT turbo setup and it will be bye bye BMW... so $ for $... very close cars... good to see the market evolve this way - more fierce competition is better for the consumer at the end of the day...

Like everyone has already posted, they are putting up about the same #'s depending on the magazine and drivers... It is really just up to if you want quiet and luxury then go with BMW, if you want a 2 dr sports car then get the Z...
