Default 370z advertising budget

Hey fellow Z drivers. I'm a student currently doing an advertising project on the current Z line and need some information. I'm looking to find how much Nissan spends to advertise the Z in North America. I noticed a couple people in a few threads mention that the Z budget is super small but no figures were given. If someone has some numbers or could send me somewhere on the inter-webs with this info that would be awesome?

I don't think details on the advertising budgets of individual models are available. You'll likely only be able to find consolidated advertising expenses in the company filings.

Good luck with the research. All I can contribute is I have never seen a Z commercial on TV in the United States. I don't even think I've seen a print ad.

Early on I saw a print ad. It was either the December '08 or January '09 of GQ. 2-page spread of the side profile of a Platinum Graphite coupe.

I think there was at least one TV ad that ran for a while.

I did some digging through Nissan's annual and quarterly reports and was not able to find anything specific to the Z. Just consolidated advertising expenses.

Your best bet would probably be to try and contact someone at the marketing arm of Nissan North America to see if they could help you.

They use to show the adds in movie theatres when it first came out. Other than that, it has only done cameos. The Z turning into a Maxima is the last one I can think of.... and Fast Five, lol. OP, I would try contacting Nissan directly through email or Facebook. At worst, they send you a canned response you can use for your presentation.

I believe they barely sell 9,000 Z's a year. That's incredibly low. But I like it, makes the Z more rare and has held a pretty good value on the market. I'm not going to lie, I like the attention my car gets lol.

Thanks guys, I'm going to try and contact Nissan directly (not holding my breath for a real response). I've seen a good number of print ads out there and tons of internet banner ads (probably because i've searched for the Z on Google about 8 billion times). I found an article talking about Nissan's new strategy of advertising the brand in general rather than individual models. Maybe this is the reason there haven't been true Z commercials in the last couple years (hence the Z into a Maxima Ad). On top of that Nissan is pushing the Z hard in Europe trying to compete with the Cayman and TT. Any other insight into Z advertising would be greatly appreciated, thanks again guys.

Don't forget the Z vs chicken add? Gran Turismo, and of course GT Academy which had a tv series on Speed Channel. Nissan has been very specific with the Z's target audience. 20-30 something's guys who want and will spend their entire savings on it and middle aged men who want to look relive their 20-30 something years.

Yes I do, and I honestly don't remember seeing any.

Nissan is more out of the box.

Tv shows, Movies, Video Games, Racing, ect.
I am sure they have a very large advertising budget, but more grass roots, then just TV commercials and print ads.

The only TV commercial ads I recall were back from when the 370z first launched. I want to say they ran for maybe 6 months based on what my gut tells me.
