Shes okay just brusied and scratches from the airbag, shaken up the most. She can't forget the feeling of climbing out the driver side, with no driver there. I agree

I think what everyone is so curious about is why the chase? Seems simple. Mutual friends goto a bday party, drops off friend at car. Friends x meets her to get money everyone goes their separate ways... why did she not go to her vehicle? Why did she get back into her friends Z? Either way something drastic had to occur to flee the area like that.

@eclipse
Thanks for sharing your side of the story. It's all semantics, but there's a fine line between "chasing" and "following". Your brother in law was"chasing" them if he was able to catch up to someone doing 100mph. I'm sorry, but I really don't buy that whole "braking" scenario either. You don't automatically lose control when you slam the brakes, even at high speeds just because it's rwd. The drive wheels are meaningless under braking. The Z lost control because he hit something, was hit by something or had the wrong reaction. If the silverado hit him in any way, that would have been enough to consider him at fault. Who's to say your brother in law didn't really ram him. We just don't really know and the evidence is going to point towards your brother in law as the aggressor Anyway, I don't mean to pass judgement, my opinion doesn't even really matter. I'm glad your sister is okay.

Cmike2780 I wasn't there so I can't say how or why it happened, I was just reporting what the accident report said.
Heres what it says page 8: "Vehicle 2 (370z) was impeded by traffic in the roadway in front of him and applied his brakes. This cause the front of vehicle 1 (silverado) to collide withe rear of vehicle 2. The impact cause vehicle 2 to exit the roadway to the left..." The accident report is from witness statements along with evidence, so I thought it probably is likely what happened. I wasn't saying his braking caused him lose control, I meant the combination of braking with a rearend impact immediatly following. just a theory but if he was going 70+mph and applied full braking power, this shifted the cars wait forward. At the same time if the car with all the weight going forward was hit from behind, would push the car into a spin. I'm only getting this from my past experience of owning a nissan hardbody rwd truck and remembering how shifting the weight in it, I could easily get the backend to spin. Again just a theory, I'm leaving it to the police who are more experts than I. Also I'm not trying to justify anyones action, my personal opinon is they both commited stupid acts, nothing can justify putting the public at danger like that. Lets all just learn something from this, no ones family needs to go through what that guys family is going through. |

So the 370z was flying down the road in excess of 70+ MPH (stupid)... saw traffic and slammed on the brakes. The 370z can pretty much stop on a dime... so if some maniac wasn't tailgating him, there would of been no accident.
Glad to hear Sean can at least move hands and feet. VERY good sign.

If he is able to move his hands and feet there is a good chance he can make a recovery. It might take lots of physical therapy but there is still a chance.
