It seems to me that most high end cars are unreliable. I just don't think I would ever buy a ferrari or lambo or aston. I think the way to go is to buy something with a proven platform such as the corvette or mustang. Mod it for less, drive it more, and not care about the depreciation as much.

1. I'm cruising at around 75 mph down the freeway then.. rumble rumble rumble and on come all the dash lights and the car dies. Me: "Oh snaps... my wife's gonna kill me" (girlfriend at the time) 2. Tow the car to the closest Porsche dealership who inspect the blown engine and say that the warranty was up at 50k. We're on the hook out of pocket for a new (refurbished... gee thanks Porsche) engine! 3. Wife: "Oh hell no... not 5k after warranty is out with only 55k on car!" 4. Wife calls Porsche North America, informs them that they are about to get sued along with the local dealership where she bought the car. (Wifey's a lawyer) 5. Porsche apologizes and says "Oh what? No no no... we will replace the engine at no cost to you. Sorry for any missunderstanding". So there it is. I don't know what the warranty is like for an AM but I'm sure when you cut through all the BS and start at the top (Aston North America) you will yield some firm results right quick. A little side note is that Wifey was talking to one of the sales reps at the time at our local dealership who sorta had loose lips and mentioned that the (insert model and year here) had some problems with blowing engines due to (fill in the blank). That bit of info played into her argument with PNA pretty well. Aston may have a similar circumstance. |

I tried to google 'DB9 clutch' to see if there is any issue of the DB9 clutch but didn't find anything.
You really have to find out the real cause that lead to burning the clutch. BUT, it will cost you more money since if you bring it to another dealer or mechanic, they will have to open up the transmission and you will have to pay them and you are risking end up getting nothing but just a burnt clutch. Again, good luck. I agree with you at one thing though, is to stick with your principle, even you can afford spending $200k+ on a supercar, it doesn't mean you could be ripped off by the dealership. You can, try KillerBee370's method, get a lawyer, I believe she can afford a very good one. |
