Default S mode

So I have a Pioneer AVH4300P dvd HU, Stillen G3 intakes, BERK HFCs, and ARK Grip Exhaust. I tried to turn on the S-mode today and it didnt work. The button feels kinda sticky like it wants to stay down but slowly retracts up... I though maybe it was disconnected from the sterio install so i check it but the plug it plugged in fully and fine. Do any of you guys know what could be the issue? Thanks alot.

Also i dont want to take it to the dealership because i dont want to try to push the your car is modified you dont have a warranty issue...

I didnt think the button stays down? thought it just pushes in and comes back no matter if you have it off or on...

yah, it's a momentary switch (non latching type).

and you have to push and hold for like a sec or two in neutral.

Yeah you gotta hold it for a second... the S doesn't immediately pop up. I thought I broke mine once too and then kept my finger on it. Not sure why you'd really want to ever turn it off though.

You have to hold it down for a three or four seconds to turn it off but only have to push it down for a second to turn it back on. You can do this while you are moving, you do not have to be in neutral (at lease on my 2011). As stated above, it sounds like someone spilled a soft drink or something sticky because the button is normally "springy".

I think I would try some contact cleaner and cycle the switch several times spraying in between. It does sound like something has been spilled in it.

Weird. The button is sealed on top, so even a spilled drink shouldn't affect it.

I had this problem when installing my red GT-R start button. When I was putting together the plastic pieces around the shift boot, for whatever reason the S-Mode button didn't fit right until I took the plastic around it off and back on again.

The hole for the button is perfectly sized, so if the plastic around it is off just a millimeter, it will keep the button from popping back up in a normal fashion.

No drinks in the car... unless the stereo guys did it and i didnt know but i dont think they would do that. I know it doesnt stick down normally, mine kinda sluggishly comes back up like its sticky. Usually itll turn on one push as mentioned above. Ill take off the boot ring again and see if it looks different or unusual. Thanks guys.
