How has your 370Z held up?

Mainly looking for input from '09 owners who DD their cars, are in/out of them a lot, etc.

Touring models with leather mainly. Any pix of your seats? How do the interior and exteriors hold up to the car with heavy usage?

As long as the motor and drivetrain is holding up I wouldn't worry about such things. Seats are replaceable. But I know where your coming from.

Bought my 09' back in March of 2009. It's a DD except in the winter. As with any car, little things start to piss you off... such as little noises that come and go. I have this weird flutter sound when the air is on for some reason... it's coming from the glovebox area. It drives me nuts.

As for the leather seats... they are great! I've spilled coffee on them a few times (one time like half a cup) and after cleaning it up... it looks like it never happened. I'd even go as far as saying they are stain resistant. Don't quote me on that tho...

After almost having this car for 3 years, I only have 12k miles on it. But with noises and everything, you'd think it had 75k miles on it.

It's one of those cars where it's love at first sight but the more you get to know it, the less attracted you become. It's going to most likely be my first and last Nissan purchase. Not saying I don't love the Z... but I'm currently saving up for the 2014 M3

Hrmmm, I think all cars are like that to some extent. About 1/2 the cars I have owned have that flutter with the AC. I think somehow crap gets in there, and interfaces with the fan.

How are body-noises, such as when you smack a pot-hole? Still like a piece of billet like when new, just *thump* and life goes on, or is it rattly now?

What other "noises" do you refer to?

Reason I ask is that seems to be EXACTLY how they felt when they designed the seats in my Z06. I'm done with crummy interiors and looking to get into a nicer one. At first feel, and riding in a HEAVILY abused 'vert with 9K miles on it, the 370Z felt like a bar of billet over bumps. Quiet as a tomb. Interior was very nice.

Just wondering how others have fared, if it is the general consensus that the car is an anvil, or do they rattle, seat bolsters wear, and the car feel cheap in 2-3 years 30-50K miles?

The seats in our carsr hold up pretty well. There the same as in the 350. I had my 350 for three years and they held up great. The side bolsters where you enter the car had little discoloration but the factor didn't wear thin. Maybe more so with leather though.

The "leather" held up pretty well in mine. Seats still looked great when I was done with it.

The inserts drove me nuts though. Make sure you keep a towel in the car if you hit the gym. Get sweat on them once and they're never the same.

Interior got the normal creaks and rattles. Mine were not as bad as some, except the headliner rattle I could never get fixed. It was the only one I couldn't drown out.

almost 77k here, its holding up good but i don't have leather... had it in my previous car and didn't want the cracking issues again. i'm fine with cloth

Haven't had any issues with mine. Bought it used with 15k miles back in January and just hit the 32k miles earlier this week.

Can those inserts/seats tolerate hot-water extraction cleaning? My Dad owns a company and I can borrow his equipment no problem, if the material can handle about 190-200* hot water that is nearly instantly sucked back out. (he cleans upholstery pretty often, but I don't know the exact temperament of those inserts)

No clue. Never found any solid info. Shops near me would not touch them though.

one would need to take care of leather seats as if they were taking care of their hands... meaning how well it holds up is how well the user takes care of them.

my 7yr old G's seats are near new condition. only thing i do is treat it with leather products from time to time (like once a season), use special leather detailing spray every 2-3wks, and try to keep the car out of the sun when not in use. that's about all.
