I would get on your dealer's @$$ and have them put in an order for it now. I would get tired of getting the run around.

Will do when back in state. I love my z06 though, so its not like I'm desperate to do this tomorrow, although I'm ready when they find the car, the wait wpon't kill me.

I'm in the same mindset as you, the wait isn't killing me either. Just make sure based on the dealer you are working with, they are not trying to wait you out, based on the salesman your dealing with being told by the owner of the dealership to sale the remaining Z's on the lot first. I read between the lines at the dealership I ordered my Z thru that the process of selling what's available comes first. But to be honest, my salesman knew by meeting my wife and I, I was a serious buyer who knew what he wanted (and knew the 370z, from bumper to bumper, I even have my prices for my mods taken care of with their tuning company). Just make sure you understand that they may try to let time be on their side.

I'm dealing with the manager as much as the sales rep. Manager is the deal, sales rep is just doing leg work. I can wait all year, though, I just want to trade before I move mainly.

With that being the case, you should have no problem just writing out your check for the deposit and chill, that's when all of the beating around the bush stops from dealerships. As i stated before, i've had a wonderful experience with my dealership, their tuning company agreed to price match my Tanabe CBE with Y pipe (they are a Tanabe dealer), and i'll have my full set of Z1 Motorsports silicone hoses with Post MAF Tubes (K&N air filters should be delivered today) all installed by them except the air filters (can do myself, the only air filter i use in cars is a K&N air filter), also the GT-R button too. I'm very happy how Nissan listened to the true Z enthusiast when they started the R&D for the 370z.

I've done the dealership waiting game and here in the Texas, louisiana, Tennessee, oklahoma, New Mexico area its pointless. They keep stock at a minimum, they won't hold anything that's popular just so they can make you order. So you will be waiting a long time. The best way to deal down here is make 3 dealerships fight for your business. They are going to want that deposit for MSRP on the Z of your choice. Tell them that the other dealer is offering price X and you better make it believable otherwise they will call your bluff. And if they do. It just gets tedious from there. Waiting it out will only lead to disappointment. Trust me. Been there, done that. |

I have an '09 with just under 20K miles on it and is used as a DD. Nothing to complain about at all. Almost time for some new tires and I have a small chip on the windshield that was repaired by the glass repair guys under insurance. The paint has held up nicely with a few chips from the road but that is expected out here in New Mexico. After a good wash, claybar, and wax it looks better than what the dealerships have sitting in their showrooms. Damn fine product!

Sterio will stay stock. They are lusting for an arctic white show quality/kept z06 and do seem to be actively trying to get the car I want, I'm just chilling.

My is a 2009, it is not a DD with 10K miles but I have gone twice to ZdayZ and a lot of cruises (highway miles and back roads) with my Z Club.
However this is one car that I have driven more than any other since I always have a "huptie" for work. This car has hold pretty good, some things here and there but no major complains. I really like the car and enjoy it driving it, wish I drive it some more. All the cars will have there different flaws so if you like it, enjoy it!

And that within itself was a pain in the azz deal BUT I had been through a lot getting my first Z. Lol. I wound up buying used because these dealers were asking way too much for a new Z. They thought it was still in its first year. Lol Last edited by UNKNOWN_370; 12-08-2011 at 07:56 AM. |
