I dont understand what people mean when they say this?! Its just a mustang, why the negative connotation? Isnt a Z just a Z? These two cars have been head to head in price and performance for longest time until recent...i dont undertand what makes people think thier 30k car sets them apart from another 30k car. When i had my 370Z i loved it, same with all my 350's...when i saw a mustang...i would ONLY care if it was a GT and always saw it as formidable comp.

I think the seats a pretty solid with one exception. When you put your head on the head rest you can feel the posts from the head rest in your back. The seats seem pretty hollow but they don't slide around. The seats are a pretty tight fit too. You should take one out for a test drive.

I have driven one, well, several, but my 'vette had solid seats when new, and now they tend to move around a bit. I loved the car on first impression (both the Z06 and the 370Z), I'm just curious how time treats it, and I don't want to answer that for myself if someone else can do so for me.

My one MAJOR complaint about the 370Z was the blind-spot. It was insane.

PS. I heard the head-rests were that way on purpose and it was a "feature"?

Over-all, the interior is very nice. I'm now just concerned with how it wears/holds up inside, if the seats get loose on their tracks, if those inserts in the seats fray, if rattles are prone to develop, that sort of thing.
if you want a nice interior, get a bmw or a real luxury car. the 370z interior is very very nice considering its a nissan sports car.

Some sort of safety feature.

The seats are solid and hold up. Everything on the Z is solid and holds up. Just keep an eye on oil consumption when new, add oil if needed, and you are gtg.

What do they call that feature? The "stab you in the back" feature?

It means that the person in question is letting reputation of the car or the brand get in their way of exploring or enjoying the vehicle.

blind spot is bad.

The head rests are the way they are to prevent whiplash, from what I understand. the lower part is supposed to stabilize the head/neck area in the event of a crash.

Everyone likes to think their kool-aid is sweeter.

In my opinion...

Tier 6: Kia/Hyundai/Suzuki
Tier 5: Ford/Nissan/GM/Chrysler/Honda/Toyota
Tier 4: Lexus/Acura/Infiniti
Tier 3: BMW/Mercedes/Porsche/Audi/VW/Maserati/
Tier 2: Ferrari/Lamborghini/Aston Martin/Bently/Maybach
Tier 1: Rolls Royce/Bugatti/1-off type cars of uber-low production hand-made

Anyone in one tier above someone else who wants to talk smack about brand is just being an idiot imo. as many of the brands have vehicles that are worthy of a Tier higher or lower than the one the majority of their vehicles occupy. Once you move 2 tier levels, then you start to see some real gaps. At 3 tier levels, it's probably a different world, no-matter how loudly Hyundai wants to say that their paint is better than Mercedes.

Yes, the way I understand it, the seats in new vehicles like that are like a really crappy external HANS device. Kindof cool.

I know the '09's had an issue, but are the new Z's a problem once broken in? I know it will use oil for 500-1500 miles, as my Z06 and most every other new car I have heard about does/did, but once things seat in, is it G2G?

I really like the 370Z, it has a much more up-scale interior/look than my Z06 does on the inside. Outside the Z06 is sexier because it's lower, but I like the curvature of the 370Z better.

I guess my question with the 370Z is...is it like a knight in tin-foil, or is it as quality as it feels on first touch--through and through--. To me, it felt maybe 9.5 out of 10 as quality as a Cayman S except for the paint. (I did not drive the Cayman, just felt/sat/looked). I am just worried that at $40K, the car has an interior that looks $60K, and I hope that it doesn't fall apart like a $20K interior with extra money spent trying to put lipstick on a pig is all, if any of that makes sense?
