And you can lock your vehicle from the outside with the key fob on hand while the engine is running. I do it during the summer time if I'm at a convenience store and just getting a soda or water bottle, I leave the engine running with A/C blasting cold air while I get my drinks. Upon returning I just press unlock and get in.
So far this is the only vehicle that allows me to do that. Any other car, I have to turn off the engine in order to "lock it".

My GMs, 350Z, previous 240SX, previous LS400, previous E36M3s, and a few others allow door locking using the remote while the engine is running. I do this when warming up in the cold months to prevent theft.

I didn't know that after 2 yrs of ownership, that on occasion, I would still be floored by how aggressively gorgeous a car she is.

one thing i found on from my 07 Si and that i've tested on my 07 350Z and now my 09 370Z is that if you push the unlock button from your key fob, but don't open the door, within 45 seconds, the car will lock itself on its own.

It will get tired of beeping. Perhaps it may follow the key fob.
On a serious note, nothing happens. It only beeps for a few seconds, but if you don't lock it anyone can still drive it away.
I haven't tried this, but I will "leave" the key fob in the garage while I drive around my block to see if it shuts down after a few minutes or if anything happens at all.

Most cars do that (modern cars with factory alarms). You can unlock it, but if no doors are ever opened then the car lock itself again. Some manufacturers gives you 45 seconds, others 30 seconds or a minute.

I bet no one knows this......
If you want the passenger to STFU, all you have to do is (while in a safe zone/area to do this) do a quick input in the steering wheel of hard left followed by a hard right. The passenger's head (the side of the head) will hit the glass. They will get the message..
I do it to my wife whenever she starts bickering or annoying me. She gets the message.

I forgot to mention while the vehicle is in motion I.E. anything above 30-35 mph.

All this talk about storing a handgun in the cubby holes got me thinking; If you're in an accident, couldn't you have a gun flying around your head?
