The drive-shaft is carbon fiber to save on weight, but the fly-wheel weighs over 30#. I found this...interesting.
For comparison: Mustang 5.0: 21.5# ZR1: 27# What I intuit from this: The VVEL isn't very smooth. |

Not neccessarily the VVEL. The I3 and V6 are the least naturally balanced engine configurations you can get. An I6 or a V12 would be two of the most naturally balanced layouts you can easily find. Also flat engines will be naturally balanced as well. I would say the Vibration and harshness of the VQ37VHR is an inherent problem.

What I didn't know about my Z is that it would attract Idiot Dodge Caliber drivers to ride my azz just cuz I'm driving a lil spirited on my own accord. I also didn't know that an idiot 08 mustang gt driver would join in on the douchebaggery. I didn't expect for my Z to make the mustang driver look like a fool. I did however, expect my Z to make the caliber driver look like a fool. |

How does this impact long-term durability? I haven't really been looking, but do VQ37's have a rep for popping at a certain mileage or just randomly? I was under the impression that they were anvils, except for some '09's that used a bit of oil until Nissan fixed the issue. |

I don't think Nissan would put out a motor that would be popping at 80k, but it probably depends how you treat it. You can't change the laws of physics, and the noise alone let's you know what is going on at high rpms. When you realize that is in spite of a boat anchor of a flywheel....I'd just sell it as the warranty runs up. |

I found, that if you stand by the gas cap and press "unlock" on your FOB, the gas door pops open...
