My STOCK Z Winning Local Car Shows! lol.
Well, with a lack of much to do in DFW, me and my wife thought it would be fun to do car shows as I'm planning to mod my car little by little, I thought it would be fun to be more active in socializing with automotive enthusiasts such as myself.
So last week me and my wife decided to share the car show experience by entering a "Hooters Charity Car Show" in Mesquite. I entered in 2 categories, Import and Sports car. I won first place in both segments. I wasn't all that impressed with my winning at first because my general competition was so slim. Import my competetion was a modded sentra and miata. And sports car my comp was a 2002 trans am. He won best overall due to his extensive mods. But people seemed to favor the Z body style over anything on the lot that day. Well win or lose I had a great time and its a blast being with enthusiasts. :) Now last night, I entered my car in the car show worth posting. I was in a charity car show in mesquite. I had like three heavily mustangs and a challenger a few modded trucks with Boomin' systems and chrome rims, undercarriage lights etc... they appropriate vehicles took 1 place in there subsequential category. MY GUN METALLIC 2011 370Z base+sport 7at. I prepped my car with Meguirs ultimate wash, clay, polish, wax and a self done interior detail with a homage to Puerto Rico with a flag draped in the trunk won best "Best of Show". The reception the Z has been getting is unreal. I realize how much Nissan is not doing to promote this car. Most people have not seen one up close or have only seen the base car or NISMO. The sport pkg seems either to be more rare or just less seen??? Many don't know the paddle shifters are on the auto and they are amazed by the interior layout of the car. My signature in both shows is when judging begins. I enter my car turn it on and rev to red 3x. Then shut the car off. It seems to be an attention getter and I get bombarded with questions on power. I guess people find the exhaust note more impressive than I do??? Lol. I just thought i'd post that. I'm truly a proud owner and take my car not to win, but for people to get familar with the car. I had a feeling that people just don't know anything about 370z's. At the end of last weeks car show, I had a guy come up to me who owned a mustang, slightly older one. He loved it so much he said he will most likely buy one. :) that's a SWITCH. Lol. :happydance: |
perhaps everyone thinks its a heavily modified 350z :icon17:
|
seriously! i had more people complimenting me on my 370z in 1 month then 4 years of owning a crotch rocket.
Yesterday a buddy of mine thought the 370Z just came out a few month ago...I guess people really dont see them all that often on the road. shoot, i rarely see them around, and i look for them lol |
I wish I didn't have a nismo so I could say something about it not being "rarer" than a sport package Z and not get flamed. Also, for non car people, base=sport=touring.. they can't tell the difference, heck! they can't even tell its not a 350.
About the car show, they are always fun and it's even better when you are the center of attention :D good job! |

As far as NISMO visibility... I think its just Tx. NISMO's are... NOT common by any means. Just more visible. People tend to see bases and NISMO's. I honestly believe its probably the preffered car for many texan enthusiasts. Numbers mean everything here... having that extra 18/6 for texans is a big deal. So the NISMO will sell better. My dealer always needs to stock at least 3 every month, then they have about 3 base manuals, 1 touring auto and another base auto, without sport. :( Usually they ONLY get sport pkgs from the factory at my dealership when someone orders one. They push MSRP hard on sprt pkg orders. I think all DFW dealers do this and that's where the imbalance of more NISMO than sport pkg come from. I notice you don't see many sport pkg's in dfw till the third sales quarter. And even then, its mostly touring, sport, auto nav for. 42-44k. The base and non nav's are definately the rare breed in North Tx. |
can't even tell its not a 350.:driving:http://www.qhd95598.com.cn/us.jpg
